b19- Rear wiper servicing

Since I brought the beast, one of the Niggle was that Rear wiper did'nt work. And it was not something as simple as Blown fuse. So I Humbly visited TASC to check the issue. After Paying a hefthy 1000 INR bill just for checking and Diagnosing I was certainly not happy. They spend about half a day opening Panels, Checking wiring Etc etc and Final diagnosis was that Motor was bad and would cost about 10K plus TAX & Fitting.

So I decided to Take matters in my Own hands. I worked slowly and took a good week or more at my Leisure. Here is what I did.

1. Inspecting Grounds for Carbon, Rust etc. Adding secondary Grounds if needed.
2. Checking all connectors for Carbon, Filling Jelly in all of them as needed.
3. Opening the Motor, Lubricating. Polishing Brushes and contacts. (copper ones)
4. Lubricating Wiper Gearbox.
5. Painting the Motor with Anti Rust Clear Coat (Hard to see in pics)

I am happy to report that There was nothing wrong Per-se about the entire mechanism. And my DIY with above steps means wiper now wipes away happily.

ODO- 84.1K Kms
Journey 700Kms
Route- NH3 Bombay-Nashik-Malegaon-Dhule (And back)
Target Speeds- 90 to 110KMPH, Max speeds 120KMPH for a split second
Terrain Encountered- 100s of speedbreakers, Kasara Ghats (Both ways), NH3, And regular tolls & time pass.

1. The beast Managed a smashing FE of 14.21 KMPL on the entire run. This is amazing in its own right, as the Beast was driven about half the distance by my dad, who is little speedier than me (Oh yes, You read that correct). Whilst I was expecting the FE to drop down to something like 13.5, But Its more or less same as on last drive.
If the Safari DICOR, That too a 4x4, That with crapload of luggage, can consistently return 14 KMPL I wonder where all perceptions of a fuel thirsty demon comes from?

2. Tyres are holding up well after the sealant GEL treatment and have not sunk down on these runs.

I have used 2 bottles of ABRO fuel injector cleaner on and off.
One on the Last run with FE of 14.21 KMPL.
One last month with FE of 12.4 KMPL.

However, the Highest mileage of 14.31 was without any Additives. So the Mystery quotient remains. Fuel pump has been the Exact same( Indian Oil) With same filling nozzle/ Dispenser.
The ABRO Fuel cleaner however, solved my (very mild) RPM fluctuations at idle which makes me immensely happy.

Journey 600Kms
Route- NH3 Bombay-Nashik-Malegaon-Dhule (And back)
Target Speeds- 80 to 90KMPH, Max speeds 100KMPH for a split second
Terrain Encountered- 100s of speedbreakers, Kasara Ghats (Both ways), NH3, And regular tolls & time pass.

1. The beast Managed a smashing FE of 14.57 KMPL on the entire run. This is the highest FE on My Blue elephant, beating my previous records of 14.21 & 14.31 KMPL. Very impressed with this heavy beast. As usual, The beast was full to the brim with luggage to the roof. No additives used.

2. Impressed with my Upgraded LED headlamps and high beam assists.

This is the modified Gurkha they used in the RFC,in 2014 and 2015,which the Force Motors team won.
45deg ( 100%) is already enormous and they still improved it to mind boggling 60 degrees!!

Other interesting bits. Just look at the approach and departure angles! Also the water wading capacity.

Gurkha is already an Offroading Monster in Stock form. And RFC guys have taken it to a completely another level!
The crazy 88 Degree approach angle is due to Tyres sticking out of the body, so your first point of contact is the tyres and not Bumpers. Same goes with departure angle. Naturally, These Things are not road legal.

Speaking of Off-roading Capability in Posh, Near stock SUVs, Here is one video which I can keep watching all day.
Do check out the DEVIL'S BATH TUB at 6.10 and after.
They are almost vertical on those!
Use headphones as Music is also badass!

Part C. Painting.

As I got my vehicle mechanically sorted, It was time to turn to more cosmetic side of the mods. Painting is one of the longest Write-up. There are tons of pics. It also took me a good 4~5 months to get these things done. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed working on my 4x4.

c2- Wiper sticks

The wiper Sticks had Faded in the sun. Time to give them a good blast of Gloss black paint.
Each stick is just held in by one Nut. And off they come.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

As You might have noticed I have not been able to update the DIYs with Images and guides as there seems to be a problem embedding Google Photos on The forum.
I have notified the Mods about the same and I am sure they are working on it. In the meanwhile, I have painted a lot of stuff and updates are available on GH. So the members excited about Updates and Images can search GH thread in the google, you'll find it.

I can Hit the preview button to get a proper Preview. Which means forums understands my Images and formatting. Just some silly mistake or code that is actually preventing for being uploaded in real.

BTW. Many more updates have been pushed.
