hello everybody mine is royal enfield electra 5s cast iron engine and i want to know about the oil pump it is well known that all cast iron engines has the oil pump spindle which is driven by worm type gear is it true that this oil pump spindle tends to wear at higher speeds 80-90 kmph? according to my knowledge worm type gears causes more friction than normal spur gears and this might be the reason behind the worn out spindle and i feel that worm gears are not comfortable with high speeds[frustration] (i might be wrong) i usually drive at 55-60kmph - is this speed ok to increase the life of this oil pump spindle.please somebody expert throw light on this
