AC Gas Top-Up: Computerized or Manual Filling?

Nowadays most ac gas top up/refiling centre advertise computerised gas filling by bosch automatic machine. Still some stay with the old cylinder with pressure guage method. What's the advantage s of computerised method. Do they extract whole of gas out and refill or just top up

I only think that computerised tool can most accurately top it up. Top up is actually topping up, they do not empty it and refill.

Basically so what does a computerised machine do sense ac pressure if so how is it different from a pressure guage for ac pressure

I think it works on recirculation. The old gas is recirculated with new and the exact amount is filled according to the compressors capacity.
