Interesting incident reported here: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/64732087.cms
The guy gave lift to 2 people but was fined Rs.1,500 for being a good Samaritan. Of course technically he was charged under Section 66(1) read with Section 192 (a) of the Motor Vehicles Act, which deals with using vehicles for transportation without the requisite permit, but it is ridiculous that the law is so loose that if the Traffic Police thinks
you are using your car for commercial purpose, you can be fined! Why will car owners help stranded people if such an attitude prevails? For all you know the traffic police can fine you for car pooling!
