As soon as he crossed me he started chasing the tempo traveller that was ahead of me.

Now the two hothead cabbies started racing breaking all traffic rules. Left overtake, swerving to left and right, (just visualize the race grid). I slowly backed off to a distance > 50 meters. On the next left turn, the cabbie tried to overtake on a curve, there was a couple of stones kept as medians. To avoid that he swerved left, and the tempo traveller hit his left fender. Both stopped and a heated argument started. I had stopped at a distance but when i saw the damage was less on the vehicles and more on their pride, I quietly crossed them. While doing so, I didnt realize I had a smile on my lips "I told you so" kind and for a fraction of second my eyes locked with the cabbie. And he hurled some abuses on me.. (reasons I dont know.. was that I who made that accident?? I had just signaled you to keep an eye on road). I preferred not to respond to his pleasantries and drove off.

This was the best and the safest reaction from you. Trust me, I have been into this situation with no fault of mine. Lucky it was near my house and was my territory and so was saved.

@Icecool. Nice you reacted safely. IF you go offensive he might start all his circus behaviour. I face such attitude drivers daily here on my 50km ride to and fro office. If you see those vehicles there would already be lot of damages for which they dont mind unless the wheels are moving. These guys so tend to fear us by driving close to us either left or right. What I do is just ignore them and give way to them because I love my car and cannot tolerate even if she had a scratch.

An acquaintance took the liberty of using my car in the night to drop some one (without my permission)while i was at a farm house. Blamed on rain & carelessness smacked a divider in an overtake i assume , never heard or wanted to see that person again!

taking the car without permission even all my friends know where my car keys are and sometimes they need helmet and everytime they ask me first before taking it.

so I see bumper and fender damages, is there any more damage?

@Prads.. Thats quite a damage. Good that the acquaintance is now never to be seen, but get holdof him, recover the money for damages and then flush him out of your life

sorry to hear about your mishap. some people are like that they take our things and damage it without even a remorse. they don't know our love for our rides. i have a close pal who had indicated several times for using my bolero, although he is a good fellow i am afraid that he would cause some damage and hence always sidestepped his indications.

whenever we go on a long drive my wife and mom advise me to hire a driver. But allowing some other person to drive my car is like a nightmare to me. That's the reason i never ask for pick up and drop facility during servicing of my car. I take off from office and personally drive my car to the dealers service center

Felt like talking to my alter ego. The exact same feeling ! And only for people like us when we rarely hand the keys to someone, something happens.

One of the rare occasions, had to appoint a driver to go to Tirupathi. After returning home, the next day morning car refuses to move - clutch failed. He was driving the car (Verna) throughout like a tempo.. you know always in higher gear & had to tell him once every 50 kms. For all we know, clutch could have failed even if I were driving, but it was like assurance for me never to let anyone touch my car again.

We are so possessive when it comes to cars and don't feel shy about broadcasting it..

Same here,

Car owners only know the value of their car and the value of the lives who traveling in the car. so I always prefer Self-Drive. I won't allow anyone to drive my car except my Dad

Bumper .Fogs,Wheel inner lining,headlight assembly,Fender,whole left swing arm & other suspension bits,ABS sensor and assembly,Slight negligible damage to radiator & intercooler frame,wheel bearing and set,maybe the tire also.

There were many cars parked & some were blocking eachother so my car & another was free cos i had parked it safely,key was left with security. We had planned to spend the night at the farm house & get back in morning only .
So this acquaintance who i have only met twice took the car while i was with my friends.

Driving the car to work shop early morning was the hard part.
The fellow later communicated through a friend ,offered 2 or 3k,to which i gave no response, as after insurance i have to shell out around 6k easy. Along with this goes the accident free tag of the car & bonus of insurance etc,more so the irritation.

So i decided to let the fellow live with guilt(if any) than accept petty money that may allow him to brag he paid for the damages.
