There are numerous occasions where we encounter sudden appearances of livestocks on the road, and only someone who is alert on the wheels can negotiate them.

However at other times we see that cows just stand still in the middle of a road. In those cases, what is the thumb rule for a speeding car? Is it right to take your vehicle from the front of the animal or the rear? I have heard opposite views from quite a few experienced drivers. Hence I was just curious whether any thumb-rule exists for this.

Always remember that you should try to slow down because animal behavior always unexpected.
But if you are not in a position to slow down to safer speed then remember cows and Buffalos most of the time moves farward instead of going back,. So in that case try to escape them from their back side. Dogs , sheep etc. Behaves unexpectedly , so one cannot say what they will do . In that case because these are small in size try to escape from left side of the road. Because hitting a vehicle will be more dangerous while trying to escape from right side of road.

First of all please slow down.
Try to pass from the back of the livestock as in most of the cases with the four legged ones, their reverse gear is hardly engaged. Dogs and cats are quick ones so be careful when you encounter them.
be extra careful while negotiating chicken as they are very quick and can move unexpextedly.

DRIVE SAFE
