Ravindu Toyota service centre had called me a week back to intimate me of the approaching 1st month Service for my car. They asked me my preference of the service centre location in bangalore by giving me all the possible choices. As Hosakote service centre was nearest to my house (around 15 kms), i opted for the same at 10 AM in the morning on Saturday (8th Dec ). They confirmed my date and time and also did 2 follow up calls in the next 2 days. Was very impressed to see the professionalism of Toyota Service.
On 8th Dec, i started off from my house towards the service centre at 9:20 AM. The fuel indicator was showing 2 bars (which i assume means less than 10 litres of petrol in the tank). I thought of completing the service first and then doing a tank full. Reached there sharp at 10 AM and found the place up and running bustling with activity with Toyota service guys roaming around all the place and a lot of Toyota vehicles standing in the queue for their turn. There are 2 assembly lines for incoming vehicles. I was told to join the 2nd assembly line. Attended a service manager in another 10 minutes to do the paperwork. Then the manager came to my car to know about any issues etc that i was facing with the vehicle. I just told him about the right side suspension and NVH noise. He wrote down the 2 issues and inspected the vehicle 360 degrees, making some notes during the process. Overall took around 15-20 minutes. Thereafter around 10:45 my vehicle was attended by service guy from the centre to take the car inside for servicing. I was promised a delivery time of 1 PM (ie 2 hours) as i had also mentioned about a small scratch in the left side front bottom bumper (done during a careless parking with a side wall) to be fixed by some touch up etc. They said they will do whatever can be done from their side to make the scratch dissapear. Else, i will have to go with a partial body paint for my front bumper costing around 1500k. As the scratch was small at the bottom of the bumper, i decided not to go with it for the time being. The Wait -
There is a waiting longue for customers where a big display screen presents the status of all vehicles that have come for servicing. Expectedly, the service centre was crowded by Innovas followed by Etios, Liva and Corolla. There were a few Frontrunners too. The room also had a big TV screen which was showing the India - England test match. While i was lousing around in the lounge reading newspapers, India was loosing wicket after wichet making me not to look at the screen. Thereafter around 12:45, the attendent told me that my car would be delivered in another 45 minutes ( a delay of 30 minutes from what was communicated). By the time i got my car, it was around 3 PM. I was hungry to the core. The only thing i could do was drink coffee served in the waiting lounge area. Towards the end, i had almost started to loose my patience as the promised time kept on getting delayed by 30 minutes. Service Quality
Excellent. As this was the 1st service, there was no oil change etc done. The car was checked for any issues in the engine and also a thorough wash was given to its exterior and interiors. The quality of the cleaning and wash was topnotch. Was looking sparkling when it was delivered to me. Serivce Details
They said they had added a Spacer
to address the Suspension and NVH issues. It was free of cost. I did notice a considerable decrease in the NVH levels post the service. Also the suspension issue on the left side of the car has been taken care off post the service. A few takeaways on my 1st Service -
- Very professional and organized
- All people in the service centre are well behaved and very courteseous.
- Time taken - they shouldn't promise their 2 hour service time just for the sake of it. I had to wait for more than 4 hours to get my servicing done.
Hope to see the car's mileage improve in the coming days. Very satisfied with my car till now. I know atlest on the ASS
and Maintenance front, i won't have to face any issues with a Toyota vehicle.
