I'm really frustrated on the issues i'm faced. I'm going to narrate the issues, wordshop people behaviors and the response of tatamotors.
Kms crossed : 6800 Kms. Issues:
- Suddenly the A/C is cutting off. But the air flow do continue its job with 1/4th the regular speed on fan mode (some times it look alike heater). At the same time my vehicle pulling is nothing as “0”. My vehicle not responding after some speed limit per gear. 10kms speed for 1st gear, 20kms for 2nd gear and 40kms for 3rd gear. If I try to pull in 3rd gear from 20kms speed limit, it’ll reach to 40kms speed without any pulling issue. But after that speed, the vehicle not even responding above that speed. Not even revving. If I want to move further I need to change the gear and go up. This issue happening when the A/C making issues. The instrument cluster giving NO signal of check-engine, over heat etc. I checked my engine oil and coolant. Its fine normal. I shown it to customer care manager.
- My center locking system automatically locking and unlocking continuously when I switch off the car. Some times in parking mode. I need to lock and unlock using remote or else I need to switch on and then off the engine to make the locking system to normal. Lot of times we faced this issue. Sometimes my family with kids inside, sometimes they are inside and I’m outside. Just imagine what can I do the same happen when I met with an accident. I tried to reproduce this in front of technicians. But this kind of thing happened very rarely, i faced around 7 times in my ownership.
- My gear lever is slipping back to neutral from 3rd, 4th and 5th gears while i cruising over uneven roads in normal speed.
- The revving rhythm is changed from 50kms speed to 60kms speed using 3rd and 4th gear. In between that speed range I felt vibration like tone from engine. Just not as smooth rev.
- Hard vibrations felt after 110kms speed. I used to travel long trips to Chennai/Bangalore. The vibration is growing nowadays. This vibration not there before they fixed the vibration issue in the rear.
- The reverse sensor sound indicator sometimes not working. But the display showing properly the distance to hit and stop. I faced only 2 to 3 times in my ownership.
- Driver seat creating sound ( not fixed properly. Some grrr, grrr uneven sound )
- All doors closing sounds differ. Need to check the rubbers. The tail door making more bad sound while closing. It look a like there is no rubber support between the body and the 5th door.
- Interior roof lining close to rear door came off, its hanging. This was fixed at the time of delivery. But it came again.
- The interior plastic panel back-left-top not fitted properly after the rattling issue fixed before.
- The same rattling sound coming again from tail gate side.
- Right side wiper leaving a line while wipe. Its very old issue unresolved.
- Some sound from roof.
- In steering panel has lot of screwdriver depth-scratch marks. This showing how hard the workshop peoples working for me
- Some uneven sound hearing from engine, when I
start the vehicle in the morning (They replaced a radiator fan few days before). The engine noise raising and downing a bit. like hhmmmhhhhmmm.
- Dash board storage below the chiller is not aligned perfectly. It shown bend a little. But the dealership peoples giving bad smile when i shown to them.
- Car has alignment issue. They did alignment 3 times. The right/left pulling issue resolved. But still my inner side of front tires looking flat.
Response from the GM-service and other peoples from the workshop regarding my issues:
- I sent the vehicle for fixing on 6-12-2012 in the morning. They note it down the issues. The service adviser asked me to narrate the same to his Service GM. I narrate him everything. He told me that it look alike big. I wrote a detailed mail regarding my vehicle issues to tatamotors and cc to my dealership.
- In the afternoon a person from workshop called me and fired me as i sent mail to tatamotors. I know better about the issue solving capability of their workshop peoples. I'll explain later how they treat my issue list.
- I informed them when i sent vehicle on 6th that i need my car back by 8th evening as my family marriage-engagement is scheduled on 9th.
- Each day i used to call them to know the status. 7th evening they told me that, they found some issue. The coolant is keep draining, but not on the floor. They told me that they changed some tubes, some locks and a radiator fan. The issue is resolved. So the AC will work again and the engine will behave good as before.
- 8th i called them to bring my car back. They told me that, they need to fix a lot as they fixed only one issue. But they told me that they fixed the critical issue and the rest are not critical. I asked them for a loaner vehicle. They told me that they have only 2 vehicles. One is used by a SP office and another by a friend of dealer owner. So i'll not get any loaner vehicle. . I bring my vehicle by 8th-Dec saturday after 2PM and send my vehicle back to fix the other issues by 10th Dec Monday 9AM morning.
- After sent my car to workshop, i called to the workshop CRM to esquire abt a loaner vehicle again before go to tata motors. They told that they can't. And he told me that he dont know when i car back.
- I write a request to arrange me a loaner vehicle. But they never contact me back
- I called the tata CRM for our region and enquired about the loaner car request sent by mail. He told me that i'll get my car back by today as the work shop fixed everything.
- The evening service people called me and told that they will send the car back by tomorrow.
- Next day i went to bring my car back. The told me that all the issues are resolved. I found that most of the issues are not resolved, when i test drove the vehicle. I even show them the reverse sensor beep not working one time, roof noise, engine vibration at the speed of 50 to 70 in 4th gear, roof-lining, etc, etc. I'll explain their response in next part point by point. But they asked me to sign in a paper as they fixed everything. And they confirm that they fix everything in a day if i send them car again by friday evening and i can get back by saturday evening. So they can save their face from tata motors. I agreed. I dont want to spoil the good tempo between us.
- The same day i received a mail from GM-service. It said they finished everything in the list given by me. So i hit reply-all (i used to press reply-al button than reply.) button in my windows live mail software and sent them a reply. I stated the pending issues. Then only i noticed that the original mail has a cc to tata motors.
- I sent the car back to 14th friday evening as promised.
- I called them in the 15th morning to remind them their promise.
- In the 15th evening they told me that the issues are not resolved yet. And they dont know when they can finish it.
- I asked them again about the loaner vehicle. But they simply rejected it.
- I mailed them again to CRM, tata motors regarding loaner car. And filed another complaint about the pending issues as i clashed again with the GM-service. I'll explain it below.
- I told them that i feel vibration over 110kms. They told me that our roads are not good to ride more than 100kms. So dont ride more than that. :(
- This is tata vehicle it'll rattle. The seat rattling is common in all vehicles :(
- They told that they can't test and fix the "imaginary complaints". The center locking and reverse sensor issues are not very common.
- I sent the vehicle to fix gear-slip, but they tested for gear-tight. They just applied some lubricant. And they confirm themself as it fixed.
- The GM-Service told me to leave the "imaginary issues" when i start narrating the central locking issue.
- I always facing some bad smile when i narrate some issues to them. Its hurting me a lot.
- GM service told me that he can't give me loaner vehicle for all small small issues as well as imaginary issues. But they are holding my vehicle for 10days (in 3 parts)
My family marriage function is arriving. i need a car each day. Now i'm renting an Innova with a rent of 1500 INR per day. The tata and my dealership not even bothering my loaner car request.
Few months before tata people will call me when i register a complaint. But nowadays not.
Twice a month tata peoples calling me to get feedback about the car. But they never comeback to me when i register a complaint.
Some loose connection or firmware issue is the main cause of central locking and reverse sensor issue. My car get damaged few times due to the reverse sensor failure in needed time. I fearing a lot about the central lock issue. GM-service calling it as a imaginary issue.
This is the only one dealership in my area. I dont know how i'm going to deal my matters without any fuss in future.
I feel unique and happy when i travel in my aria. Its a very good product, no doubt. But the dealership spoiling the cool. Issues can happen. But the issues must be fixed without pass the burden to client.
An airbag light was used to glow from the beginning. The dealer people told me that, it showing as the airbag is active and works fine. But the same will not go off when i plug off the seat belt. The service dont have any response for this when i took delivery. But now the Tata-service-people (not dealer) found that its a airbag malfunction light. Now they fixed it.
They dont have any answer for why the AC has issues and engine do malfunction. Even the instrument cluster not shown any indication. But all of them solved by replace a radiator fan and few tubes. Even the instrument cluster not even shown the temperature. I still feels that some other issues are hidden inside engine.
I invested more than 15000 INR to rent a car. Its a brand new car. crossed only 6800kms. They used by 2000 INR worthy diesel for testing. Charged me 320 for wheel balancing. I'm not sure, howmuch i need to spent more to rent a car. I sent a final request to tata motors for loaner vehicle. I'll wait a bit anyway. I hope they never force me to go for legal battle.
My mileage also gone low to 12km/ltr. but it was more than 16-18kms/ltr before. :(
I start fearing now.
