IS this OK? with reference to what nitin said!!

Thats absolutely fine.
You can easily expect a mileage of above 17 on highways.
Let me tell you, if you are referring the mileage on mileage metre, make sure you reset the trip metre before going on a trip, because mileage metre is a average of trip metre kms.
Normally people take the tankfull to tankfull mileage to be correct and accurate than mileage metre. But in my opinion mileage metre mileage is correct as well. Because in mileage metre we can see Point to Point mileage, which can be high specially if you are driving in highways. Whereas in tankful to tankful you are taking into account some kms of city drives and parking as well just before the highway trip, which reduces the overall average a little.
Further there are very few hatchbacks which gives a mileage of above 15 in city conditions.
So seems a good start.
I mean a car which claims a mileage of 18.4 and if it gives 16 its is in fact excelling the expectation.
Some cars (not naming to not to offend), claims mileage of 20 but quiet lot of friends of me who says it is as low as even below 10.
As for me my mileage is between 15- 16 under normal traffic conditions
13.5 -15 under very harsh conditions ( first gear move)
somewhere around 16-17 in highway (only mysore trip and nandi hills attempted till now, nandi hills was low though)
