I have got Tata Nano model 2009 and Odometer till now is ~4000 (
Last week I gave my vehicle for paid service (For some repair and oil change) and also got AMC till 2014.
It was having some strange noise coming out of backslide (engine) when I start the engine (Usually it should shut off after engine starts) and the tata service took 3 days to find and resolve the issue.
On the forth day they called me as the car is ready for pickup but unfortunately new problem raised when they tried to show me what they have serviced. That is battery went down and wasn't able to start! Again took back the vehicle to service by saying we will recharge the battery and test it so give us another one day. The next day the vehicle was ready with no battery issues. Thats is two days ago from today.
Today when I want to market and when coming back, the car didn't started. This is my first car and I have no experience on how to undertake issues like this and never had such issues before. Lucky a guy helped by pushing the car and I drove back to home with fear the car stops in middle of traffic.
Called the helpline and they told to replace the battery. Suggested Bosch battery and the car had came with Tata Green. Well I never heard of Bosch batteries before so I denied and said I will use exide batteries instead as my friend is a dealer of it and I have used batteries for home, which gave excellent life.
My friend came and contacted his disturbers. Damn thing is Tata has made special batteries for Nano and its hard to get. Don't know how the tata service center said to get Bosch battery and I doubt there is stock of it.
Now my friend tried old high capacity battery of exide (38H, usually used on Maruti vans and some sedans) to see if it fits. Luckily it fitted.
Tomorrow I'm getting new one of the same model battery so here is my queries:
Will I have troubles if I use 38H battery instead 25H that comes with Nano?
And how about warranty (Have 1 years left) and insurance? I have issues with it?
Sorry for long post but had to explain. I cannot explain about the Tata service center but I'm fed up of them. They have great cars but never will buy one due to bad after sales service. 10% of my cars has got minor damages upon there service.
Thanks... Best Regards
