Not much updates last couple of weeks but I have got some news now. As i mentioned before I had written to M&M about the stabiliser bushes going kaput in XUV very quickly, though dirt cheap it been a hassle to keep changing every 5-8k kms. M&M came back to me very promptly with a new bush, the design appears thicker than before at the base, so got the stabilizer bush changed, the front left strut was slightly creaking(i hadnt noticed it at all) but they changed it as well. The vehicle feels better than new now.
Thats not all , got the new issue brake pedal also - i had got the galfer pads sometime back. Early days to comment, but the immediate difference is the big reduction in brake play, i.e early dead travel and hence a pronounced increase in braking urgency. I am still not used to this, though if given an option i would have preferred the previous setup. But i am sure one gets used to it in a few days - so will update then if i have changed my mind.
New Pedal Fitted
Fuse Box in the XUV located to the right of the steering rod
That apart my car was due for wiper cover and power steering hose replacement as part of the standard recall - i had already got the hose replacement long back so just took the wiper cover, its slightly small in depth compared to the older one to prevent it from lowering and scratching the glass - a problem few suffered in the early days.
A new headlamp stalk was available and i took it, as i mentioned before in the review, the older stalks looked bad in quality and weak, the new one is much better and taut - has some contours for grip -so definitely better than the one before.
In the Software department there is new MBFM update(read as a software module within ECU) available - apparently improves AC control in auto mode. So i got this, yet to notice any practical differences.
The XUV has munched over 29K miles now, 30K service will be done in a couple of weeks.
