This is just a proactive measure from Mahindra to ensure owners dont face any new issues. They are upgrading all owners with the latest design free of cost.
Please dont add free of cost thing in this, as it is suppose to be free in warranty period. My point is by terming it not as a recall but corrective measure that the original indigenious product was not full capable of doing the duties it was supposed to and hence it is changed (design or quality) therefore it is must be termed as A Failed componenet in the vehicle.
Remember toyota has issues with accelerator paddle and some software glitch in US and they recalled the vehicles to rectify that, although it was doing its duty but some were not and there was a chance that it might lead to an accident. So the entire system was changed , Under the word RECALL.
Same is for XUV500 brakes as there was a grinding sound and the pads were not gelling well as they were designed to which might lead to an accident or other mishap, therefore they have been RECALLED and Changed in the batch. Under the umbrella of CORRECTIVE MEASURES.
I hope my point is clear.
Same has happned for my INDIGO for starter motor replacement and fuel punp change, although the pump had no problem but it was change under so called corretive measures.
Similarly, change of Gear Oil to fully synthetic in XUV cannot be termed as Recall and it should be as corrective measure.
ETIOS, LIVA, A star are recalled.
Fortuner brakes were updated and that also be termed as Recall (had it has happened in US) but here in India it was termed as Upgrade of Brakes
