Caution i am coder, good in compilers, transpilers. Not good in adjective, noun, verb etc

History

My dream on motors started, when i was doing 6th standard.

My Father bought one used TVS 50 XL, then my motor dream started. I started learning biking. It was 5 years old, sometimes i had to adjust the speed by pulling the cable manually. Mainly, we used bike for shipping Jute Sacks, Coconuts, Rice bags etc...

As the years passed on, we changed bike frequently for every Odo outrun - 100000 kms

All bikes were strictly used for carrying loads - Coconuts, Rice, Jute bags etc...

Bajaj M80 - 1L kms

I asked by father to buy Bajaj Pulsar as they were chasing us on roads easily.

But, we ended up in the list based on our needs [clap]

Hero Honda CD 100 - 1L kms
Hero Honda CD 100ss - 70k+ kms
Hero Honda Splendour - 1L+ kms (we drove some 20kms without engine oil on a hot summer day, everything was good)
Currently - Honda Active(2 bikes) - 30k+ kms

Even now, Milk man in our town using Bullet 500cc for distributing milk.

My four wheeler dreams ignited, when we bought mid-range lorry - Eicher 10.90, Eicher 11.10 for our Business & Agri purposes.

I finished 10th Standard board exam, assisting my father on Agri & Business, got wish/dream to drive the lorry. My Father haven't allowed me to drive lorry on roads as its unethical, illegal to drive at the age of 14 without a valid licence.

So i started driving lorry mostly on play grounds, roads(near by villages).

Driving a lorry with 12 tons of load is awesome. I felt more responsible driving it on village roads. Driver, who sat besides me was thrilled/feared

12 years passed by, married, jumped many jobs, travelled to cities for jobs.

Hyderabad - RX130 - 20k kms (Srisailam trip 500kms in a day)
Bangalore - Apache 160 - 40k+ kms (chennai, ooty, kerela trips)
Chennai - Activa

Reality

I am inspired by two blogs

The Automotive India
Team Bhp

I read, read ,reading each and every thread, comments like reading source code in my projects.[evil] for the last four years.

I was planning to buy a car, started with the following cars.

Alto k10
Eon
i10
indica
ritz
manza
punto
polo
bolero
tuv 300
Nuvosport.

I did test drive in most of the SA in Chennai, all cars/models below the budget - 12L.
Most of the salesman know about me in Chennai area. Because my hobby was test drive[evil].
But, i don't have any basic tech skill to express my opinion on rpm, torque, balance, spark plug etc.. I just enjoy driving. thats it.

Confusions were there. Questions in the mind were....
1. Should i buy a car ?
2. Is it needed ?
3. What you save, when you don't have a car?

I always wanted Ritz, my wife wanted Huyndai 120...
Ritz was discontinued
I had a Soft-Corner on Indica. Then, Tata Bolt came in. I was happy with quality of Bolt.

Then my Bother-in-law lended me his Ertiga VDI for me for about 6 months. I drove it for almost 8k kms. Awesome LUV.

I liked Ertiga very much. We don't need to compare our car with other on Style, Colour, model, age etc. when your are satisfied with the car based on your Needs/Budget etc. Just Stay Happy.

Drove with passengers - 2+, 4+, 7+ppl.

Then, i retuned back the Ertiga. Back to Activa.

I never felt bad with any Bike's/Car's performance. Because..

1. I always maintain max 80-90 km/h on highways
2. Strictly follow rules
3. Regular pit-stops
4. Do Service on time, Replace parts when required

On one fine December, i witnessed/experienced the Massive Flood in the Chennai City. Cars, Houses, People were floating, helping each other to overcome the natural(man-made) disaster.
I witnessed BMW, Benz, SUVs,Budget - Hatchbacks, Sedans were floating on water.

Then dropped the plan of buying a new car.

Then Due to my Job, i moved to Ireland. Here, i witnessed cars with Good Safety features which is still option in our country. We have to upgrade ourself in all aspects.

My Colleagues are owning good cars. Still, i resist myself to buy a new/used car. I dont know why...

So, i started to enjoying rented vehicles.
------15-18 euro/day.
------Unlimited kms
------ AXA insurance - 60 Euro/year (for the entire EU)

So far, i enjoyed these rented vehicles. I have few photos of these vehicles.

1. Opel Corsa (510+ kms)
2. Opel Astra (50+ kms)
3. Toyota Auris (130+ kms)
4. VW Golf (600+ kms)
5. Toyota Auris (100+ kms)

Hope Toyota replace Liva with it, though its feels a segment above. How is the engine?

Its 1.4 litre engine. Haven't shown any lag with 4+ passengers on-board on up-hill & down-hill.
It falls between VW Polo(though 1.5 litre) & VW Golf on driving comfort & responsive.
As MrBoss said, its on corolla platform.
My guess, it can be priced around 10-12L, if its released in India.

Yesterday, while driving , it was snowing and the temperature was around 3 degree C. I haven't realised the slippery road as i am new to drive on icy road. When, i saw car was skidding away from the road in my rear-view mirror, i reduced the speed to 40km/h [confused].

Hi CarSeeker, welcome to TAI.

Nice. Coder, No problem, We are testers!!!

How is this Opel Corsa? Still on Roads? I saw these vehicles some years back, and now it is not all visible on roads here in middle east.

Auris Luna is Corolla hatchback. Same front, same steering wheel and interiors.

Hi Mathew,

Opel corsa is similar to swift, in case of performance.
Strictly for 4 members only
Interiors are good as hyndai
I drove one year old vechicle.

But, Opel Astra hatchback is awesome....similar to Hyndai verna in interiors & performance
