Wanted to share the highway experience with my Celerio ZXi AMT (O).
Combining my experience of 2 trips I have done so far. One to Goa and another to Coorg from Bangalore. Speed:
Touched a top speed of 140 Kmph without breaking a sweat. But did that only once for a couple of secs. The car feels stable cruising between 90-100 Kmph. I can surely say that it is a mile muncher and I have put the apprehensions I had on its highway cruising abilities aside. Steering response is good and it does feel light at high speeds. Mileage:
Between 18 to 20 Kmpl is what I was getting with mild air conditioning. NVH:
Still leaves a lot to be desired. Grand i10 excels in this department. Probably under body coating can reduce a bit of road noise from creeping into the cabin. Comfort:
Not bad. Had a stretch a couple of times every 1.5 hrs or so. But then this is my first car and I am a newbie
in car driving, let alone driving long distances. Overall:
Driving AMT was a bliss. Pure MT owners might get bored as they might not feel very involved while driving but on the Highways, I feel AMT is as good as pure MT. I must say that the switching to MT feature actually came to the rescue during overtaking and in ghat sections. Tried it to the fullest and the car came out with flying colors. The music system is more than satisfactory and does a really good job. Would like to mention about the braking. It has got a really good bite. Was surprised by a few unmarked speed breakers and the brakes promptly got the car to almost stand still while cruising around 80 Kmph.
Look forward to my next trip already!
