This is a long term review of my buddy my honda eterno
So our friendship story how it started. Rewind to year 2005. I had a kawaski rtz if anybody remembers for.my daily duities. I was always a biker at heart. But after getting married like many indian husbands my daily duty of getting vegetable. And stuff started. My bike was also getting old it was a 1990 model brought second hand in 1995 so it had already served me for.12 years. So the decision was made for a new practical scooter during 2007 among 4stroke there were bajaj legend, tvs spectra and honda eterno. I was keen towards tvs spectra. But knew spectra had clutch and front suspension issues. Bajaj legend was out of picture right away. Due to its.looks and reliability issues,
Decided to take a test drive of honda eterno
Went to b.u bhandari in pune for a test drive
They did not have a new eterno for test ride.
So somebodys eterno from among.their staff was arranged.
The test ride
THE test ride was good though the vehicle was used but it was very smooth. The gear shifts were positive. though the suspension was hard
Overall the scooter was perfect. For me
The buying experience
Told the sales guy wanted to book an eterno he told.me there were only two available black and grey. Black was no no because my kawasaki was black. So it was grey .
Made a cash payment of 37800 in full
Was told to wait for 2 days for the eterno
The vehicle delivery
The sales guy just handed the papers and escorted me to the vehicle. There my honda eterno was standing in all its glory, started the scooter my mom was there with me. We started the way back home, my my what a smooth and comfortable vehicle it is my mom said and she didn't have.to.worry about her saree getting stuck in the chain or wheel during the motorcycle ownership almost six to seven sarees were stuck in the chain or wheel. and then you know what happens.
Well after reaching home all were happy with the purchase.
On ownership
I do not treat my vehicles as mere machines
I bond with them for me they become living things that require love and attention and in return they serve me anytime every time.
On reliability
My buddy has been with me almost for 8yrs and in 8yrs it has not had even a single issue.
Expect for a couple of punctures. Till date all the originals cables are functioning without trouble, currently it is on the third set of tyres
It came with ceat tyres as ome. After 25k mrf were fitted and now after 54k again ceat this time tubeless were fitted at the rear only, next month i will fit the front one.
During this tenure we shifted cities and i have done almost 10 to 15 trips from pune.to aurangabad a distance of.240km with my mom and sometimes alone. Without hesitation my buddy did not fail even a single.time. just one kick in the morning to bring her to life. Any time and.everytime. no issues whatsoever bullet proof reliability

On maintenance
I have not done a single.Service at the service.station. i have carried all the services and oil changes at home. Expect for petrol and oil changes no other expenses .
On utility
I can carry a gas.cylinder a shopping bag on the space in front. The dicky can hold a lot of other stuff.
Performance
Single seat it can go fast, i have been till 70 kmph. That is enough for me, the vehicle could go faster but i do not want to take it to its limits i think 85 is the top speed.
Fuel economy
Constant 50 kpl some times 55 kpl according to traffic conditions.fuel quality etc
Conclusion
If Honda could reintroduce eterno with a self start softer rear and front suspension and a little cosmetic make up. There are people who will buy this wonderful scooter.
