| | Re: Mahindra Xylo 2014 H9 Ownership Experience
Got the roof top carrier fixed today @ India Garage. Also tried to fix the chrome ORVM LED blinkers along with it. When the technician tried to unbolt the existing assy, he found 1 of the 3 bolts was tightened with wrong thread - this was fixed by their own Velachery workshop a year ago, when the mirror was smashed by a passing Scorpio. Mahindra didn't have mirror in the spare list, but the full assy only. So I paid ~2K to fix that time. Today, while opening for wiring he broke the base but told me the 2 screws will hold the assy. I reached home, parked the car and when I closed the door, the entire assy fell loose hanging on the wire :( Most likely due to the vibrations & weight couldn't hold on 2 bolts, in the 7 km drive home.
Tried calling the accessory person and also the workshop for replacement of the entire assy (I was willing to pay for the assy, since they initially avoided taking my call many times and answered only after sending this SMS) I didn't want to drive with the ORVM hanging, since the cable may snap and costing more. Requested for a door delivery & assembly.
But with all the follow-ups for 3+ hours, fixing couldn't be done today. Requested to do on Monday and waiting.
