I learned driving on my WagonR 2008 (bought from a used car dealer on Sep13)
and I realized he has trapped me giving the worst wagonR in the world, but respect to the Maruti GURU.
So I planned to buy a brand new petrol hatch @ 5L (no more used vehicles).

Shortlisted - Petrol Hatches @ 5-6L
Only 4 cars were there in my list (with their cons),
1. T Etios Liva - Less Mileage and not VFM
2. VW POLO - Price higher & many cons
3. M Swift - Every one has it and price higher with less features
4. H Brio - The Best (if you don't have that much luggage to carry)
I had many discussions with my friends who already own the above vehicles
and they were suggesting H Brio. I was surprised to hear that.
In btwn I sold my WagonR for a reasonable price.

TD
I have seen many Brios in town, but looked small to its competitors. One of my frnds suggested for a TD and i felt the ample space for passengers.
5 guys can easily travel in it. The only one negative is the narrow (but has depth) boot space.

One from the list
Finally I have decided to go with the cutie pie from Honda and googled a lot for its variants & reviews.

Variant
Awesome reviews & nice feedback for Brio smt helped me to book it.

Confusion [confused]
Now which colour? As I was looking for an immediate delivery, the dealer had given all the stock models details. Every one in my family liked the urban titanium colour, but only Exmt was available at that time in UT and rechecked the smt variant colors in stock. Only red and white was available. Concluded on white smt, as my father didn't like the sporty red color.

Climax
On the day before delivery, the sales ex. called me saying, they don't have white smt with beige interiors , but only black interior is available which will cost 7000 more (excluding the other accs. like spoliers, door visors and all). The special edition accs. added 30,000Rs, so I refused putting it. All I need was the ALL BLACK INTERIORS (Thank God), which looks extremely authentic and classy.

Now I own Brio Smt Exclusive edition Taffeta White...

My Views
Pros
1. Comfortable ride
2. Driving Visibility
3. Good Pick up and power (i-VTEC)
4. Good Mileage
5. VFM in its segment
 - Integrated stereo with steering mounted controls
- Seat height / OVRMs adjustable & has defogger (was absent in older models)
Cons
1. Narrow Boot Space (but has depth)
2. Accessories will cost more (but more reliable)
3. No ABS or Airbags in smt (available in the top variant)
4. Manual Antenna

Any one looking for a petrol hatch @ 5L should TD Brio. YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE. [:D]

Some Pics on D Day...

Now My brio smt ex. Edition has black alloys..

Which dealer? KL02 belongs to Quilon district, and you are at Pathanamthitta?
Did you make registration? Notice that while doing registration, make

Hello Mathew,

I bought it from Muthoot Honda Kollam. I had got the TP from the dealer itself and registered in Pathanamthitta. I don't know much about the VAT, but paid around 5.3L for the vehicle (including Road Tax, insurance, Ex. warranty, RSA and reverse parking sensors). My experience with Muthoot Honda was GOOD. [clap]
I have one of my friend working there which indeed was very helpful.

Congrats on the new buy, your Brio looks great in white!
Please post some pics of the car interior.
Thanks buddy. I will post more pics soon...

Thanks Bro.
The brand name is GTR for which I paid 17,000 Rs.

Hi Robs,

"Supreme court directed to refund VAT collected on one time tax which is about 1000 Crores."

I found on TV flash news about refund of VAT collected on one time tax. I am searching through different media about this news. It appeared on some TV channel. The vehicle showroom price, inclusive of all VAT are considered for state road tax. Supreme court directs to consider only the actual price of vehicle for road tax. State motors department receives these directions from Supreme Court. Anyway, need to confirm this information.
