Preface:

Well How to commutate in Bangalore?
1) pack your self in BMTC, Even to reach a destination of 5 Km's change 2 Buses Lol, List goes on
2) Take 2 wheeler, Enjoy Bangalore weather Wait what about Dust and Rain[cry]
Even though i appreciate my partner wont lol
3) Take Auto, No way Indian government is already looting me

Petrol or Diesel:
Clearly Its petrol, Yearly i may commutate 10000Kms

Monthly: 400kms*12
2-3 Trips to Hometown: 1400*2
Outstation trips: 1000*2

Why i opt diesel?
Bangalore traffic[frustration] for mearly 5kms run your car engine for 15-30 minutes
Common 1400kms to Hometown in petrol car? people will look me [evil]

Which Cars are shortlisted?Priority wise
1)Ritz
+ves
Innovish front Seating postion, National Engine, Maruti
-ve
My partner dont like looks lol
2) Grand I10
+ves
Spacious only Liva can beat it, Excellent city drivebility, New kid
-Ve
Hyundai maintenance, Mileage
3) Liva
+ves
Spacious, City drivebility Toyoto
-Ve
Plain Jane looks, Taxish
4) Swift
+ves
Excellent drivebility, Maruti
-Ve
Cramped Rear seat, Looks like Adult space wise childish
5) Brio
I doesnt understand why people are craze about this car ideally Liva should get this kind of buzz.
+ve's
Honda's Engine best in class
Peppy
-ve's
Poor lumbar support and Head room for Rear passenger
Engine is powerful wait what about Glass covered Boot was it safe on Highways?

Finally its grand I10 for me.....

Engine:
The best for city commutate, it behaves just like any other petrol car
Best suited those who prefer sedative driving on Highway, it will pull effortlessly till 100 and then it will strain
Overtaking big vehicles is fine but swift
Drivebility:
Light steering, clutch mated with smooth gear box makes it a boon to drive in city
Though its light on Highway hyundai succeded partly to generate enough feedback

Space & comfort:
In one word Excellent, Back seat is best suited for 2 Adults 3rd one is welcome but for short trips

Mileage: (1600Kms on ODO)
First tankful gave me 14.55Kmpl with 50-50% city-Outer ring road with 70% AC usuage. [clap] Cooool its Hyundai car boss be happy

2nd 18.5Kmpl 50 - 50% City-Highway (80% AC)
3rd 21Kmpl 20 - 80% City Highway (60% AC)

Overall I am ok with mileage, Ideally it should be 16+Kmpl and 21+kmpl with 100% Ac

Can you put on some points about why the Hyundai maintenance is on negatives ? because it is costly ? or poor service ?

Also, What color you chose ? looking forward for the pics :)

I beileve Hyndai is one of best coming to service[clap]
Yes its costly, Heard from my close relative each service cost him 6-10k for 5 year old Santro.

Toyoto is winner here.

Mine is Wine red

Re: I10 Grand Magna Diesel Ownership Review

Thanks mate, I went for 1.2 Petrol ASTA Automatic and it's wine red!!! lol
one thing that bugged me is i couldn't make any type of discount. Just default floor mats, body cover..blah blah.

As for the speed, You're right. I don't really cross above 80-100 usually and that too very rare because of heavy traffic like B2B. I always maintain to keep below 60.

Other thing that bugged me while making a move towards this beauty is the battery issue. Family never gave me a chance to take time and think. But at the same time dealer stated that from November all the cars are getting fixed on this issue. So i hope it is fixed on mine or else i'm broke, seriously. 'cause my usage is like 2-3 times a week only.

Very nice pics turbo. looks beautiful. I guess that's magna ? cause body colored door handles.
regarding the insurance, Do you have any idea on how much you've paid ? I'm planning to get the insurance done myself through online for 18k (0% dep). do you think that's wise choice ? or going with dealer for first year is better.

Hey Cruise, Sure will definitely post my insights with photos in different thread. Currently, I'm just waiting for PDI tomorrow.
made a huge checklist. As for the gearbox it is exactly same as shown here...

4-Speed Automatic.
