The odometer is now at 15390.
Today, the beast went through it's 15000 Km, second scheduled service. The second "free" service includes free labor only. Materials and Parts have to be paid for by the customer.
I bought the Tata Motors Silver AMC
for 30,000 Kms (additional) for 2 years at Rs 9104
. This means that until 2 March 2016 or 45390 kms on my odometer (which ever is earlier), I will not
have to pay for most materials/parts (except clutch & brakes related) for scheduled services.
As a result of the AMC, today, I paid only Rs 200/- (for the wheel weights) of the total charges of Rs 7888. The remaining costs towards material was borne by the AMC.
Here's the break up of costs of the second service.
Engine Oil Castrol GTX 15W40 - Rs 1898
Oil Filter - Rs 295
Diff Oil - Castrol 85W140 - Rs 572
Primary Air Filter Element - Rs 806
Assembly Pre Filter - Rs 2950
Wuerth RustOff - Rs 667
Weights for Wheel Balancing - Rs 200
Wheel alignment/balancing - Rs 500
Total - Rs 7888
Assuming my remaining 2 services (@30K, 45K kms) cost me Rs 8K per service, it would mean that I would have normally paid about 23888/- (8K+8K+7.88K). Instead due to the tata Motors Silver AMC (@Rs 9104), I will save Rs 14784 (Rs 23888- Rs 9104).
