Fleeting visit to Warangal.
Last week we had been to Warangal and then went further till the Laknavaram lake.
It was a fantastic journey, with beautiful roads, greenery around. It was wet and cloudy with intermittent rains during the journey. Simply awesome to drive type of weather. There was a quite place near yadgirigutta enroute to Warangal where we found a nice quite spot to have our picnic lunch.
We started late at 10 am in the morning, and then took the ORR (Outer ring road) which added around 50 odd KMs to the journey. Later on we realised that we had to take the old route ( the work is still not complete) That added another hour to the journey time. We then took break for spirit break, then the lunch break. Finally we reached Warangal at around 3 pm. Ideally we should have reached at 1 pm. Saw the 1000 pillar temple.
My impression about that temple was something pretty humongous with huge land etc, but was not actually as expected. We then on the spur of the moment decided to go to Laknavaram lake (thanks to Google maps) Knew it would add another 150 km and 5 hours into our journey time. But with Carbonado, had the confidence of driving in any condition and any time of the day.
Reached the lake around 5 pm (situated right in the middle of the forest. ) There is Harita (APTDC ) resort right in the middle of the lake. where we had tea and cold drink. Then spent around 30 odd minutes experiencing the calm of the forest. We could even hear our breaths. This is what we call pin drop silence. What a wonderful experince that was.
Then while we were roaming near the lake it started to rain. It was lovely getting drenched in the rain. Did that after really long time.
It was around 6 pm when we finally decided to head back. One thing I noticed that there were multiple groups of CISF/ Paramilitary with automatic weapons posted along the highway near laknavaram. there I felt there could be some possibility of Naxalite trouble in that area.
