I'm more then happy with remap and Yoko tyres. It happens that during my last trip, on the way from Delhi to Chandigarh, same Rapid followed me and start sort of competing, nothing crazy. So we both drive on 5th gear and I easy overtaken those Rapid on flyover when road goes up. Remap makes Rapid much better car, much more fun to drive. I did not drive more then 130 kmh yet, but it doing 120kmh without any much more noise from engine, compare to 100kmh. 320 torque and 132bhp makes Rapid just another class car.
In India Rapid brakes is 1 piston caliper, no sure if in Europe they sale Rapid with same kind of brakes. In Indian driving conditions, there are many situations when some obstacle may appears suddenly and these brakes is clearly weak to handle most of high speed emergency braking situations. It is not bad brakes and ABS
quite effective, but it can be much better and it will improve safety a lot. I had situation recently when truck takes to the right suddenly and closed my lane when I was doing 100kmh and truck was going about 40kmh. I was able to slow down, but brakes ability been stretched to total limit, I been pressing real hard on brake pedal, thanks to ABS
I did not hit that truck. If I was going 120kmh no way I can avoid collision.
First thing to do now would be to replace brakes with Tarox 4 pistons compact kits both front and rear. Powerflex bushes another thing which I will upgrade same time with brakes.
ganaiwali, I would not advise to go for Michelin, it is soft kind of tyres and in India roads can get very hot at summer. I would replace alloys to 15" and put Yokohama AS01 S Drive 205/55R 15 on it. But it depends, what you want from car, from comfort point of view S drives make more noise and bumps on road feels harder.
