Its been a little more than 9 months since I baught this beast and have clocked more than 10k kms already. Yes I know people do cover more distance in this much time but for me its kind of an achievement as i have never driven any of my previous family cars by myself for that many kms.
The beast has served me in the best means during this time without letting me down even on a single occasion.
There were only 2 small problemsI faced during this whole time which were as follows
-The base of the boot on which the CNG tank is fitted developed a crack due to which the tank would slightly move creating a dam irritating sound but this had happen due to the age of the car and the bad roads while going to work. But this was sorted by removing the tank completely and welding the cracks and installing the tank on thick metal plates, earlier ones by the CNG guy was done with very cheap metal plates which developed the cracks very easily.
-The second problem that was just sorted yesterday was that the car was running perfectly smooth on petrol but on CNG it would misfire a lot and was very unstable. The fault was that the one of the CNG Injector Wires was cut due to which the car was forced to work on 3 Injectors hence the car was returning a pretty bad fuel efficience of 13 km/kg. But after the wire was replaced the car is running Smooth as on petrol.
Other than the above 2 minor bumps the car has been perfect I have done 4 long journey on the car 2 times to lonavala and 2 times to Pune. Both times to lonavala I have done up down on a single tank of CNG with 100% AC both times to Pune I have done up down in One and half tank of CNG with 100% AC.All the Journeys have been done at average speeds of 100-110km/hr and with minimum of 3 people on board.
The one thing that I did for this car is the complete front suspension work of the vehicle the car suspension was in a bad shape and was slowly affecting the Tyres of the car as I had replaced the car with new Tyres did not want to take a chance.
Total Amount Spent so far
1) Front Suspension Work complete with genuine Toyota parts –14K(inclusive of labour and turner cost)
2) The tank welding and metal plate plus labour-1k
Its been a pleasure driving this car for approx 10 months now my fluctuating mind did give me a lot of ideas to change the beast and upgrade for a new one as this was pretty old in age but the moment I would sit on the drivers seat I would forget all the **** that would come to my head. I know its not the most powerful cars in the market but it has decent enough power to keep a smile on my face.
Here are some pics of the car after my 10k km journey.
