Only worry is it is associated with vibrations and higher noise level in vehicle. If this is normal I am :-) |

| Re: Ford EcoSport Review & Pictures This is normal. My 1 year old EcoSport also makes similar high noise with AC on. For last approx 30 years I have used only Petrol cars so I can truly understand how big the noise is with this diesel engine |

| Joke - Engineer predicting that my car will give up ...lol Well they checked Fan and they said it is normal. They checked RPM shifts and said it is normal.
To ensure what they said is right ! I visited another ford dealership.
This was a bigger joke. Guy started the car and said this is normal.
I asked him to show me same in another car . Now this is where he started giving me gyan on Gear Changes, Tyre Pressure for 1 passenger, Tyre Pressure for 5 passenger, Speed for better efficiency.
At this stage I asked him to please show me any other car. He took me to TDCI Titanium model. Guess what it was silent. No jerks as it happens in Manual AC. He said because top model AC was designed this way. What could I say
He said this wont make noise as AC works differently here. Shockingly, he said some time later sensor will show an error message and then I should bring it. I was like why would senson show an error, he was like it will at some stage may be in rain etc.
Something is wrong, they simply not admitting it. Strange. I was surprise with his confidence that sensor will give up sooner or later
I asked him can you check if chamber /suspension is impacted as it jumped a big stone, he bent down and said all is fine. NO TEST DRIVE. Not even touched the steering.
Nevermind, I have another 6 months warranty. Post that will see if issue comes, will sell it. I liked Ford Engineers making mockery of it all. No test drive, nothing. All they know is sensor will give up...lol |

They replaced it.
When you say noise - RPM shifts and Noise you referring to or Fan noise? Fan noise is sorted as no fan works after every 5-6 seconds. |

Lat week met a person who works at TATA eLxsi and he had a somewhat similar problem with his 2010 Ford Fiesta and there he said it was way more serious because the car lost Power when AC is switched on and sometimes the AC works with lot of vibrations and car felt extremely sluggish when this happens, he almost went into a legal fight against some Ford service outlets before they agreed with him and changed the whole AC unit as they too were not able to sort out the correct issue, as of now his car works fine, but he says the car feels like its lost some of its zippiness after this AC change, it took 25 days for the whole work and he had to pay around 11k from his pocket , he said that they changed engine mounts as well which had some issues as per dealer, he covered all the work under insurance so dosent know how much it costed, my guess is
1. AC blower fan/ or its control switch
2. Check engine mounts as well |

Do you mean covered in Warranty? | It cant be covered but as it was a Ford issue he made them do the work by almost blackmailing them, He was not ready to share the methods used, but maybe he made the issue an accident based or something like that, still he got it done under warranty both AC unit and engine mounts were replaced. |

I guess in NCR it is all Harpreet Ford . Delhi Ford is out after above experience where magic happens - i.e they check check car by just cranking it for 10 sec and job done.
Guess what inspite of telling them at 4th Service, Brake (right side I guess) are making CHU CHU sound. Anything to worry about? Also how can I check brake fluid levels. Not sure if they really top it up.

| Re: Ford EcoSport Review & Pictures 2017 Ford EcoSport spied testing for the first time in India [Video]
Good to see the projector headlamps
This new Ecosport should keep Ford running smart
I hope Ford brings the new 1.5l i3 Dragon Petrol engine to India rather than the regular average 1.5 TiVCT engine |

For example even if i operate the power window during idling, there is a marked increase in rpm in my ecosport.
The shiver/jerk happens (ALSO) due to high speed fan's operation. It is so greedy that it consumes a lot of Amps. I have felt this too(in both ecosport and fiesta classic).
Esmaniac, in the above video, at about 11-12 second, the additional metallic vibration type of noise disappears and reappears at the end- that sound is normal for the ecosport. Your idling rpm too sounds to be normal.
So if there is an issue it is with the 'metallic' noise. It may be as complex as an injector or fueling being lean(=knocking) or simple as bonnet vibration. Did you crash the front end anywhere, like a slow speed impact, etc? Asking this only to be helpful to you, bro.
Others please feel feel to correct me if i am wrong. The ECU will increase rpm with AC. That is a fact.
Though i recently learned that Ecosport has a variable compressor so the 'kicking in' felt in the chassis is absent in the ecosport when compared to the classic and the figo.
In other doubt, the brochure mentions 52 litre of tank capacity, while the user manual says 47(48 for petrol models)?? | Thanks mate for such a lovely explanation. i missed it and thus the delay.
Well, luckily not a single impact@this car.
My issue is I checked other cars specially titanium model and none had this issue. Also, mechanic said Titanium got Auto AC which is not designed to cause RPM shift. Crap isnt it?
So folks after all the issues with Ford - identified the diagnostic mode. For ref see video below. To my horror, in this mode - Vehicle RPM are lower, No RPM Shift are observed. I.e In normal mode i.e when NOT in diagnostic mode - RPM are higher than what I get in diagnostic mode. Thats why laptop test never get hold of it.
No RPM Shifts when in this mode. Needle stays at same place. No vibrations.
Guys, now I get it why their laptop shows no fault. Also, seems companies cheat this way - Remember VW's emission test. Another thing, above mode always shows temperature at 82/83'C
even after fan was running for 30+ minutes during idle. Is this not strange???

| Re: Ford EcoSport Review & Pictures Looks like software is designed to cheat in many ways.
And the cheating is so sublime that even normal ford mechanic won't understand. I bet only head honchos of company know about this.
The software detects what you are trying to do and alters engine maps (VW style) |

even after fan was running for 30+ minutes during idle. Is this not strange??? | it does vary however limited frequency.... just started to happen with code as well. they had written that RPM shift are fine. Please note RPM are touching 920-950 when RPM mark moves up with jerks.
I have lost my car manual so cannot refer it. I guess idle RPM range is 750-850.
Cut off happens every 10-15 seconds. Crazy !!! Got a quote of 5.6 L and planning to sell car if I get a good price. Already test driven WRV, not fan of it but where is the choice. Else will keep as back up car.
