Did you choose the top end trim without the keyless push button start ? So entirely for how many days did wait to get your car. And let us know about the kind of service that you are getting from Fortune Ford dealership in future. I wish you good luck with your car. | Thank you Volksjäger. Below are the details:
Variant: EcoSport Titanium TDCi (Not Titanium Optional)
Color: Diamond White
OTR, Hyderabad: ~10.7 L
Extras: Extended warranty, basic accessories and vinyl seat (black with red stitches) covers from the dealer. Total 11 L.
Mileage on the car when delivered: 8 km
Shoes: MRF Not planning to change, will live with them
Initially booked Trend TDCi on 21st October but later changed it to Titanium as I did not want to compromise on safety equipment.
The overall dealership experience at Fortune Ford is good. Even though they never called me to give the update, I used to get prompt response when I contacted them. There was a little bit of delay during the delivery, but I was not in a hurry |

| Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review Thanks for sharing the info Apple, I asked you about the Ecosport price to estimate the prices of Fiesta. Looking at what you paid for the Ecosport Titanium, Fiesta will easily touch 13 lakhs for the top end variant. And regarding the tyres, I suggest that you live with them. My only advice is, as summer is coming & temperatures are going to be very high so be careful for 1st 6 months and keep inspecting the tyres for bubbles on a daily basis & don't have a heavy foot. After 6 months if the tyres doesn't show any damage then you can have fun with your car as long as those tyres wear off. Most of defects will come out in the initial 6 months. In future you can either go for Bridgestone or Michelin .
Note: Tyre bubbles can sometimes be catastrophic and sometimes leaves the rim of the alloy wheel while cornering so be careful. |

| Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review Thank you Volksjäger for very useful information on the tyres :)
Regarding Fiesta price, I guess it will not be beyond 12L OTR for the Titanium variant. Ford has to price it competitively or else it will be left behind by the competition. |

| Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review Ford owners, please share your ownership experience here. It will help us understand better regarding the common problems that prevail in Ford Engines. I appreciate anisin84 for letting us know about the water wading issue which he faced. Please mention the car's age, kilometres driven and the kind of problem faced at that particular time.
Starting with me, I owned a Fiesta 1.4 TDCI and had driven 96,XXX kms until I sold it off.
My problems were,
Dynamo belt got snapped at 70K kms. So immediately changed dynamo & timing belt as a precaution.
Oil leakage from one of the injectors at around 80k, so replaced the injector oil seal. And it was fine.
Again at around 70k radiator fan bearings were gone, so replaced the fan along with a new thermostat. (Can't take any chances).
1.4 TDCI is an old school engine so there isn't much technology that can go wrong.
And some of the common problems which I saw at my local garage which I would like to bring them to your notice.
As all of you know that Ford Diesel engine is a very torquey engine and people like to push it hard and some of them don't get the engine oil changed at the right time.
When they don't change the engine oil on time, the viscosity of the oil reduces and the oil tries to force itself out through the head-gasket damaging the head-gasket and there by causing oil leakages. This is a very common problem in Ford Diesel engines.
One more common problem in Ford is the fan, I think that the fan that was used in my car was of a low quality. The fan bearings wears off sooner than expected. People who don't pay attention to cold-hot needle or who don't have a habit of checking whether the fan is working or not will end up with a blown up head.
Thermostat failure and radiator fan sound is another common problem.
I have also seen water wading issue in the initial batch of Ford Fiesta which was resolved later.
I would also like to share an incident of bad luck, I have seen water that entered into the Ford Fiesta's diesel engine and causing the engine to seize during a monsoon season when he had to drive it in a water logged road. This happened due to a crack in the air filter housing.
Some people complain about water pump leakage, but it only happens if you use poor quality coolants or tap water instead of recommended coolant and distilled water. Other than these, my car was fine and gave me a reliable service.
Another minor problem which I forgot to mention was, when my car was at 80k, 2nd and 4th gear were not slotting. Only 1st ,3rd and 5th gears were working, this was due to small pins and a clip that costed me 350/- to fix it. It is located at bottom left of the engine I exactly don't remember the technical term all I know is if those pins break gears won't be slotted, if the same had to fixed at Ford service Centre I don't know how time they would have taken to diagnose the problem and fix it
Most of the problem which I have encountered were after 70k kms.
Likewise, I would expect everyone else to share their experience whether it is good or bad. Whether it might be about Ford petrol or Diesel engine. Thank you

Not discouraging you, but the fact is this is not the place to discuss merits or demerits or issues or exceptional performance of any other ford car(s) except ecosport. [see the thread name for better clarity]
so check to see if their is any other similar thread already in place for your query / requirement if not open a new thread.
i believe the below thread is the right place to discuss on http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/fo...-dislikes.html

that thread will help alot in gathering info as many of the fiesta / figo and old ikon owners never visits this thread, i felt thats the better place to attract more affected people rather than affectionate people
.................................................. .................................................. ..........
my ecosport is sleeping under its cover since last 8 days and in the past 1 month am using it at local with in bangalore and the ODO mileage reading came down to 16.5 kmpl, getting some squeeky noise from rear (bootspace area) while running on bad patchy terrains, but not a nueasance will check with ASC during next service at 10k

Extended warranty gives your 4 years and 100,000 kms (no change).
Quick service is something similar to express service where your car will be serviced in 2 hours. This applies only for regular maintenance.

At Fortune Ford, there are two quick service bays. |

You spent a fortune on these lavish modifications on an Ambiente.
In my opinion, You (Not exactly you, but in general) should have spent this money on a safer vehicle, either EcoSport Titaniums or Any other vehicle for that matter with better safety.
I would not have made that point if you had chosen Ambient for the budget constraints. The point I want to make that you anyway have spent that much money, but we as Indians do not honor safety. We need to practice and promote that culture. |

safety options are not something which can be added just like a projector headlamp or DRL,
with safely equipped car survival possibility is brighter, we might be good at driving but we cant expect the same level from the third party guy on road. |

I am in complete agreement on your point on safety (including promotion) - Infact had set out this disclaimer in one of the posts on the thread. I have also attempted to share considerations for selecting the ambient over the titanium
The only thing i disagree with is the cost - while from your standpoint a lot has been spent, in my mind, the amount spent is exactly the difference between the OTR price of ambient now (7L) and then (6.3L). Titanium 1.5 was ~8.8L in september even trend was ~7.6L then.
Had i waited for my booking mature at its own pace, i would paid the amount spent on accessories to Ford for price escalations (70K). I managed to navigate thru the queue and efficiently funded the cosmetics with the same moolah
On a different note, with 10k kms of experience on the odo, if i had to shell out 10Lish for the titanium spec - i would have been extremely disappointed with the ROI from the vehicle |
