Ecosoprts are these 1.5l petrol Ecosports, that I think still is a potential threat to all petrol cars below 8-9 lakh Rs if it was available for booking.
I am still in the process of settling down with the Ecosport.
Almost got used to the lack of power, although I have altered my driving style and is more easy on the throttle. But things go bad when I am in a hurry and get things moving quickly. The AT doesn't help much. An underpowered motor with an auto transmission in a heavy car is not a good combination.
Mileage has settled at the vicinity of 10-12kmpl. I hope it always stay above 10kmpl. Mileage falls drastically when the AC is on. So the figures may go worse when Bangalore's cool season is over.
The suspension still continues to test the vertebral column. Very difficult on sharp bumps and bad roads. But I'd rather not tinker with the suspension lest I foul with the car's dynamics.
Steering is good except that it has a slight slack at the middle position. I would have liked it if it was real taut. Maybe it is a non-issue since I have a history of being too demanding about steerings.
Headlights are bad. Well, I wouldn't worry too much about illumination, because I predominantly drive in the City and Bangalore city roads are sufficiently lit. But what gets my goat is that the oncoming vehicles refuse to dim their headlights even when I shift to high beam. Bulb upgrade is next in line.
Planning an oil change at 3K kms. The first service happened at ~1.6K, so skipped oil change. No issues so far. No rattles anywhere.
Overall, its a mixed bag but am going to keep it for some time.
