I initially decided not to share my delivery process experience because my vehicle was delivered by jumping the queue.
But going by the thread, I am sharing it here. Hope it can help at least someone.
I can not convey the emotions I went through.
I, MSN and T Transformer were syncing up offline to proceed further, so they better know about my situation.
I had to take the delivery of my duster on 20th June.Knowing that ES is just around corner, I postponed it by a week. Saw ES at Metro Ford St Mark on 23, rejected. Again test drove on 24th, loved it. Decided to book on 26th June Morning.
I asked manager : White Titanium Diesel.
His Reply : Sir White- 8 month wait, other color, within 3 months.
I said I need white, if not you I am going to other dealership. He said to check with GM and after a call he said sorry sir, we can not give you a white before that.
In the mean time another manager from same dealership (different branch) called and said, sir you come here, we will discuss.
He bluffed with me. He stated he will give me a car in 4-5 month any color any variant for sure. I said your GM told otherwise, he said he will adjust.
I knew he is bluffing to get the bookings done, but had no other choice so booked on 26th June morning before price announcement (Technically a prebooking) with a committed 4-5 months period.
Aggressively started visiting dealership every week to which my SA was pissed. He said why are you coming here every week, I will let you know.
But then I was in constant touch, and to pacify me, he once told that I will get my vehicle in 3 months.
Thats the mistake he did. I caught that phrase. Here onwards I stuck to 3 month deadline.
The first written update I got from dealership and ford is that I will get my vehicle in December which was a shocker for me. MSN and T Transformer who booked after me already got their cars from same dealership.
I started regular heated mail chains with the basic argument over commitment: You committed for 3 months, just keep your promise. I am not asking for any favour or priority
It went on very ugly, then the GM stepped in. He told sir, there are 20 people still waiting for same color/variant who booked before you, He showed me list aswell.
But he committed that since they promised for 3 months, he will personally ensure I get the vehicle by september end.
He kept his promise and vehicle was alloted on 26th September. But by this time Ford removed Push button.
I also knew because of my bitter fight with Ford MD Desk, they made sure that I get a stripped down version. Because of this reason, I was allotted a vehicle which was manufactured just 2 days before because feature stripping started just by that time.
Dealership refused to give me delivery estimation is written while booking (to safeguard themselves) and I used this fact to my advantage by revising estimated delivery from initially quoted 8 months to 5 months to 3 months. BTW
: This was the very early time (Early July) when we started writing to Ford and they were responding and acting. Later almost every body started bombarding them and they started ignoring the emails.
