How did the delivery process started? Did you got a call from dealer or chennai and when ?
Thanks | Thank you. I had booked Ecoboost Mars Red Titanium option on 15.06.13 at Cauvery Ford, Bangalore. Promised delivery within 3 to 4 months. Did not follow up any till 3 months. No priority number given though the issue was taken with Ford too. After 3 months they went on promising 15 days after every 15 days. Though dealer did try to give me other options with colour or variant variance i refused having waited so long for my choice. After exchange of many mails, conference calls, unkempt promises and false assurances (to deliver by Dasara then before Diwali) not being honoured - left with no option I sent them a legal notice to deliver vehicle within 7 days or pay back with damage and interest or face legal consequences (maybe the only person who has sent Ford and dealer both a legal notice on issue of delivery). After receipt of notice my dealer followed up with me regularly with other options but FORD did not respond. Finally 8Th DAY I got a call on 30th Oct from dealer that my vehicle is billed. Call it a Rich Experience.
The pictures are during PDI. I am in the process and yet to take delivery maybe by this weekend. Hope so. Quote:

I can see the seat fabric color as black similar to what I saw in the dealership on ecoboost. Can you confirm if this is grey or black?
Has the TCDI Titanium is also being shipped with black fabric instead of original grey ? | Thanks. Mine is T+ and think its black. Not fabric, Ford dear calls it real leather . Can tell only after use how real? Don't know about TDCI titanium never observed.
As I did not like the mats offered by dealer he showed me 3D footmats at a price of Rs 3000.00. He said it is from outside. It had no name and looked ok but shiny and slippery. Any ideas about mats and mud flaps availability in Bangalore. I did see the drivers side fabric mat lying in the boot of my car. Another thing observed during PDI was the FE showing 15 kmpl. Only If I could get that FE regularly it would be great. Fit and finish in boot under the carpet is worse than my swift. Is every ones same in this area. Not even painted proper.

I'm buying it from my home town i.e. Chandigarh and then planning to drive down to Bangalore, my work place. I need your advise in finalizing insurance of ES. Got quote of Royal Sundaram but it's around 34-35k for bumper-to-bumper. I have asked some Ford dealers in Bangalore about Insurance companies that provide cashless facility and got Royal Sundaram and Bajaj Allianz. I have seen in this forum that people told 22-25K for insurance. Do I have to bargain with Royal Sundaram people? or is there any catch? or any other pointers are welcome.
...
Can someone please decode my ES VIN [DK75647] number and provide me detailed report of it? I was able to decode month and year but not other information. | I have not heard of many good stories about Royal Sundaram. We bought HDFC Ergo zero Dep cover for around 22-23K through our own broker. Our is the diesel T model and for your ES too, it should cost roughly the same.
Coming to your VIN, it is Oct,2013. What other info you are looking for? Quote:

4) Spare wheel cover (dealer quoting INR 12k)
Looking forward to your valuable inputs on these, thanks! | 1.) HDFC ergo Zero Dep cover - ~22-23K
2.) Bought them from after market shops - 350/-
3.) Again, buy any good mats which can trap dust and keep themselves in their places. You can go in for Kuga/3D mats which are expensive.Lot of reasonable options available in the after-market.
4.) That is way too exorbitant! Wait for a while and you can get one for one third that price in the accessory shops! Quote:

I know it is not advisable to jump to 2nd gear at zero, but than more often than not, you end up being doing so in bagalore traffic. | You are correct friend. It is not a good practice, but in heavy traffic, we end up doing that as one gets fed up of going down to first everytime! Quote:

Observed slight rattle from the silver binocular like plastic around speedo console. Is it in every ES ? since it looks like the part is not supported properly from the dashboard. Other than that, its an touch wood | Man,
That shuddering should not happen. It happens when you slip the clutch too fast.If you are releasing the clutch gradually and even then it shudders, I would advice you to get it inspected.
That loose speedo console was noticed by many in the pre-production models, but not in the actual production models.Again, you need to get them screwed well from the dealer. Quote:

Looking forward to your valuable inputs on these, thanks! | 1. Need some R & D in insurance as it is something catchy (priced heavily) . But I have gone for Royal Sundaram through FORD.
3. Wrt mats if your are interested go in for Noodles mat in Roll form & cut it yourself or a Accessory fitting guys, It will be Rs 85/- per sq foot (you may require 4feet * 5feet length excluding the boot) or else 3D mats from 3M at aaround Rs 6500/-
4. You can wait for sometime for spare wheel cover as the price is to high from FORD. Enjoy the wheel look which many of them like it.

This is for 2 on board with moderate luggage. | During your next highway run try this:
try to be a light footer (avoid pressing accelerator pedal harshly)
and drive with in 70 or between 55 to 75 kmph and let us know the mileage |

Looks like a diesel mill has spoiled you/us. | As per him it gave 18.xx kmpl when driving under or max touching 100 kmph, if that is correct then my point is to see what if he keeps 70 as max and drive wisely, then he should atleast get one or two more kmpl rite. |

These are some mind boggling numbers for a 1.2 ton heavy monster which is being pulled by more than 120 horses!!
Are you planning an entry into Limca book of World Records? Quote:

Today i went to my dealer to get the spare wheel cover. I casually talked to my sales executive. He informed me that another price hike is confirmed from Jan'2014. Price hike will be around 30k . He also told me that demand is still high for Ecosport. |

They are exporting more than half of the production and penalizing the waiting customer for their inefficiency and greed.
No way to go any further. |

No way to go any further. | One of my money bucket friend booked on july as it got delayed he cancelled it, and gone for a hunt for someother car, stupid booked again ecosport last month, now he calls me again to say that he just cancelled as the delivery of his tit o may come around may 2014, as dealer told him that wait sir ecosport will be available off the shelf by feb or march (i dont think ford will increase production to match demand, but one thing sure is by that time demand may come down below their production capacity )
He checked with sa and their is no info on price hike may be they are tight liped reg that, if petrol and diesel cost increases that increase all the input and output cost involving manufacturing and they cant keep the price remain same
If product in demand price increase may occur at any time,
If product not in demand discount, freebies and offers would be there all time, till demand increases |

No way to go any further. | +1. i am really confused what's going on inside ford. They are not able to meet the demand and at the same time hiking the price. But i am surprised that still people are going crazy for this car. even my sales executive told me that they were expecting slight slowdown in demand after the Terrano launch. But now they are surprised to see that there is no effect of terrano launch on ecosport demand. |

| Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review Hi All,
Congrats for all the ES owners.
I have a question:
My ES ODO crossed 2070, I am planning for this weekend to my native (nearly 600 km up and down). First service as per our manual, 2500 km. So can I do the service now itself? or Can I do after 2700 km ? |

Even a Ford classic is much better than a ford new Fiesta sedan
And giving discounts to Classic and Figo and NEw Fiesta is a very well expected move from Ford, I believe its their best choice to keep market momentum running with Ford as well as the best way of stock clearance
By 2014 mid year the Sanand plant will have started its operation as an assembly line and I hope the new products and Getrang Powershift and ecoboost can be sourced easily here,so stock clearance is a must for ford to add new inventory into Chennai stock yard. Quote:

Also before going for long journeys check tire pressure and keep it in optimum, a little bit higher than whats normal in the car |
