yesterday i drove TAI
member mukesh's Storme
so thought about writing what i felt about the car.
well the car was already parked on , well like an off road track
check the terrain. 1. **First Impressions**
well i really liked the rear of the car than the front.
sat in the car and checked if my legs were touching the steering wheel or not , they were but well it was not a problem while driving.
mukesh has the base model and thank god there were no wooden finish interiors. the color combination was just perfect. 2. **the drive**
well there were huge watery-muddy potholes and at first i was reluctant to drive the car fearing something bad could happen but well raja an mukesh said go for it there won't be much problem so i drove the car. 3. **view from the cockpit**
well i just couldn't believe my eyes. the whole bonnet was visible while driving leading to lesser fender benders while turning.
and well i noticed an alto at a distance and i don't know why it seemed 70% of the actual size lol. ( well not being a regular SUV driver i felt that way ) 4. **suspension**
is just great. there was no thud sounds whatsoever. the car felt sturdy. and i was driving on that terrain at speeds varying between 15-30 kmph.
even at speed breakers , going around 15 kmph , the car didn't struggle. it crossed medium sized breakers and landed effortlessly causing no discomfort whatsoever. the rear part of my verna goes up and down after crossing any speed breaker so in this regard storme did pretty well 5. **noise level**
even with both the windows rolled down , the noise was very less than i had anticipated. well obviously at higher revs the engine produced some noise but it was tolerable, nothing like my cousin's ritz which sounds like a truck inside the cabin 6. **Power of the engine**
since it was a new car i didn't go over 2700-2800 rpm. there was a bit of lag even after crossing 2000 rpm. i could feel it. but yeah not a deal breaker. 7. **shifting gears**
smooth like butter. raja and mukesh both noticed me shifting gears using only 2 fingers :D well this tells it was effortless. 8. ***some negative points***
a) Shoe getting stuck while pressing the clutch.
well as odd it may sound but literally it was a problem for me. i was wearing no 10 canvas shoes and when i tried to depress the clutch i just couldn't.
so i had to use my toes area instead of full feet to use the clutch.
i drove 6-7 kilometers and it was not that much of a problem. i wore same shoes while driving my verna and never suffered any problem like this
b) steering wheel reaction on bad roads.
well when i was driving off-road , the steering was going crazy. well obviously because of the potholes it was happening but it was too much for me. i had to hold the steering really tight. mukesh upsized the tyres so i believe that was causing the problem ? please correct me if i'm wrong
c) turbo lag even after 2000 rpm. not that much of a problem but still there was a little bit of turbo lag after crossing 2000 rpm. 9. **Random feature which i liked**
a) illumination around the ignition key and power points.
b) if doors are locked , just use the driving side lever to get out and all doors will get unlocked. this really is a problem , when you want to get out you first have to unlock the doors then use the lever.
c) if some door is not closed and you press the lock button the car will honk to remind you that some door has not been locked.
