Dear Friends and all Storme owners,
I just wanted to share one incident which I faced in my recent trip to Mussoorie. I was taking my storme out of the parking space and there was a sharp and very steep turn which i have to take in order to get out the car from elevated multilevel parking, when i was taking turn i lose control of the car for one moment and to control i have applied a very hard and sudden breaking. Every thing seems fine and i was out from the parking, suddenly i realize that all the blinker and all the roof lights are on. i have tried all the possible, checked all the doors one by one , closed it 2/3 times but lights and blinkers are on.
Except this every thing is fine, car is starting normally, all the function are perfect, everything is working perfectly. I called the ABS
service manager Gurgaon and try to figure out the problem, they suggested me to open the bonnet and disconnect one on the wire which is there for open bonnet warning, but nothing happen. after two there try they told me that its not possible for them to identify the problem over phone and asked me to check it with TATA service center in Dehradoon.
I thought i will go to hotel (40 KM away from town) disconnect the battery for night and take my car to dehradoon next morning. I reached back hotel (with blinkers on throughout the drive), and after parking it i discover that central locking system is not working and i can not lock the car from my remote, lock function/button is deactivated in remote.
i was very frusteted and disappointed thinking about what to do and suddenly wife advise to check the manual if i can find some clue or solution of the problem. and OH MY GOD i found the solution, actually it was a safety feature (inertia switch activated) which deactivate all you door lock immediately in case of collision or very hard breaking
. And to bring back it to the normal condition, u have to reset the inertia switch which is located to the side panel on co passenger side near to the glove box area (see the manual for exact location). It was a big relief and i was literally impressed. I then open that part and reset the switch and every thing back to normal condition.
I can say you its really a good feature in case of accident you door will unlock for any emergency situation. But resetting the inertia switch was a task.
