Hello everyone... Im new to this forum. I would like to share the rebuild process of my amby with you all. First of all let me introduce my ambassador. Its a 1961 amby bought by my grandfather as a new vehicle. We have lots of memories with the car. Now my dad and myself are taking care of the car. It was an OHV in which my granfather had changed the grille and bumpers to mark 2 in late '60s, then my father changed the grille to mark 3, swapped a brand new 305 matador engine in late '80s. In '90s the car was in a proper mark 3 avatar except the engjne which was dieselised. Then the dashboard and steering wheel were changed to that of Nova and wheel disks to that of gypsy's in 1999. Currently the car has mark 3 face, nova interiors, powered by matador engine mated to an isuzu five speed gearbox with A/C, semibucket seats, etc. Now im planning to revert it back to a proper mark 3. Body work is going on. We are also trying to alter steering column gear shift for the isuzu 5 speed gearbox.

Thanks AmbyLovers. The mechanics and tinkers are working on my car for past 45 years almost. So my car actually has gone to safe hands for rebuild ;-)

I'm in need of the following parts. Preferably brand new..
1. Mark 1 dashboard
2. Mark 1 ignition key unit
3. Mark 1 pull switches
4. Smiths meters and clock
5. Mark 1 steering wheel
6. Mark 1 steering horn ring kit and cap
7. Mark 1 reading lamp and switch.

I know brand new parts are almost impossible. But pls let me know if anyone come across these parts even if used.
Thanks

Yes, you are right. Its not easy to get the new parts, and not sure whether its available.
Point 3 can be sourced, Others still doubt.

Why dont you try for used parts.

Rather than using used part, wouldn't there be an option of compatible items. Since we are talking about electrical here, that would a better idea.
Think it like this way. Taking the entire switch combination of a brand new vehicle.
Just my opinion. Can be of a jeep or even maruti( available),even parts of Ambassodor Grand may be available.
BTW this link may help.Ambassador parts. Not sure about their products.
Waiting for your response.
