Your Regular Cruising Speed in Highway?

As the title suggest please specify your regular cruising speed on the highway. And please vote the cruising speed of the vehicle which you often take it to the highway, if you have two vehicles. And please specify the cruising speed of the other vehicle in the post if you have two or more vehicles.

Mine is:
1. Tata Aria Pleasure 4x2 - 120 Kmph (a more relaxed and comfortable cruising vehicle ever experienced).
2. Maruti Gypsy 4x4 - 80-100 kmph.

Irrespective of the vehicle my cruising speeds are:

No hurry and regular driving: Anything between 80-120 kph
Hurried up situations: Depends on the road and vehicle.

Night driving: 100 kph max

My cruising speeds vary between 80-100 kmph for highway driving, relaxing in the 5th cog. I have never went past 120 kmph actually.

The way I reach upto that 80 or 100 kmph is a different story though.

PS. Isn't the poll too optimistic. I mean, 140 kmph, 160 kmph. Come on!

^^Sirji poll isn't optimistic at all. Last night itself I got 16.9 kpl out of my Polo on a proper full highway drive and that is the testimony to the same. But yes, these aren't regular cruising speeds until there is something really important. Short bursts of even up to 180-200 kph also do happen at times though.

Yes I meant that only. Given that most people own 1.2-1.6L cars only, cruising speed should be around 120 kmph only. Anything above that would be speeding!

For my Swift it is always good to be in 70 to 80 Kmph. For Celerio 80 to 90 Kmph.And for TB it is 60 to 70 Kmph.These speeds give maximum mileage.

My cruising speeds between 100-120 kmph for highway driving, Max I touch was 125, not beyond that. Car is Baleno Alpha. usually i am getting 19-19.5 avg for this speed.

Yes I meant that only. Given that most people own 1.2-1.6L cars only, cruising speed should be around 120 kmph only. Anything above that would be speeding!

But that wouldn't be speeding when an Audi A8, A6 does comfortable cruising of 150 Kmph. I myself have seen many Audi Q7's doing 150 - 160 Kmph more relaxed manner. And i agree with Tsivipul and you that the poll is optimistic but i have also considered people having a bigger engines like 2.2 L's and 3.0 L's.

And we have a small engine (1.2 L - 1.6 L) and if we cruise at a speed of 100 Kmph then the persons with bigger engines (above 2.2 L) would try to push or drive the car upto a max. of atleast 140 Kmph when it is a free highway where there is no traffic. So keeping this in mind i have given the options for the people using bigger engine.

I think there are equal number of SUV owners also in the forum, start polling.

On Dammam Expressway : 140+
On Kanpur-Delhi NH1 : 80-100
On YEW : 120
On Kanpur-Lucknow NH 25 : 80-90
On Kanpur - Allahabad NH1 : 80-100

It depends on the conditions, as usual. The most comfortable is around 100 kph. Sometimes, depending on road and wind conditions, I've found that increasing speed to 120-130 results in reduced engine rpm. These 100-120 speeds are easy for almost all the cars nowadays. As a result, I find myself in the company of stupid drivers, sometimes. Going to and maintaining 140-150 for about 20 minutes is the best way to run away from them.

But then, the 126 horses take over and ensure that the speed stays there. Conditions, conditions ...

I keep the following speeds when traveling on the NH.

NH 1 = 70-80 km/h

NH 8 = 60-80 km/h

NH 58 = 60-70 km/h

NH 24 = 80-90 km/h

DND Flyway = 70 km/h

YEW = 70-80 km/h

I couldn't vote for two options.
My cruising speeds depend on the time of the day, my mood, road condition and my passengers.
When with my friends, I would do more than 100 easily on my Ertiga unless the road is bad or the traffic is more.
With family or when I am in a relaxed mood, my speed is within 100kmph. 90kmph is where my Ertiga gives excellent mileage.
Night time my speed never exceeds 90kmph unless the highway is extremely great and empty. Once a night drive mostly doing 90 kmph overall gave me 23kmpl on my Ertiga! Reached home at 5am in the morning that day. Empty highways, diesel cruiser and smooth roads with my favorite songs; Sheer Bliss!

On Kanpur-Delhi NH1 : 80-100

On Kanpur - Allahabad NH1 : 80-100

Vinod Ji, I think, NH 1 is the Punjab wala highway. And the Kanpur-Allahbad NH is the NH-2.
