The Aviation Industry is seeing a shift and that being the striking off of the conventional Jumbo Jets i.e Boeing 747s and the Airbus A-380. It has been found that the commercial airlines have been rather inclined towards more economical options of the twin-engine planes which are far lighter on the pocket in comparison to the 4-engine jumbo jets that can carry more than 500 passengers. Due to this change of requirements and tastes there had been Zero orders last year for new Boeing 747 and Airbus A-380 by Airlines.

The slump in sales of the jets has raised questions over how long manufacturers can sustain production. It has also fueled internal debate in both companies over the future of the planes, sources said. |
The outcome of those discussions will affect the value of existing fleets and thousands of production jobs at the plane makers and their many parts suppliers.
