I like Autocar India but it is too expensive now at 100 bucks.

Which is the best budget auto magazine nowadays?

Earlier I preferred Autocar India but now they have really shot up the price so I now purchase one casually, and like Akash said, when you have Internet – The ultimate source for quick information, there’s barely any need for magazines anymore.

My take is What Car! All the necessary info cars and a bit about bikes (not sports and racing) from the ACI in a concise form. Pocket friendly at Rs 50.

You get almost everything on forums these days then why automags?
You get 24 X 7 turbo channel now in TATA and dish. Then why magazine.

Aah! The idiot box and PCs taking away reading habits.[evil] (OT, I get Turbo on cable.)
*Those who do not have a PC or/& an Internet connection have no other go.
*You get everything you basically need from Mags.
*Consolidated and genuine info. (not necesarly suggesting forums dont give one these, but it is the job of these mags to get us all the info. Compare a mag and a forum, and not all that is in the Mag is covered in the forum.)
hows auto bild and top gear? and whats their price?
Auto Bild and Topgear are decent enough. Topgear's formula is plenty of pics, brief info. Auto bild is really pleasing(it's editor is a former Overdrive Editor, but I wouldn't rate it the best though)
Auto Bild Rs50 (Fortnightly)
Topgear must be 100 bucks not sure.

Here's how I rate various mags -
1. ACI
2. OD
3. What Car!
4. BSM & Auto India
5. Auto Bild & Car India(also run by a former OD editor)
6. Topgear

ACI, OD, TopGear, Car India = too expensive
What car = too boring
auto bild = too low on quality.

Auto India and zigwheels are VFM(acc. to me)

BTW Zigwheels costs just Rs. 25

Its first 4 issues were Rs. 10
Then they increased to Rs. 25.
Now, for Rs. 50, it is definitely not VFM.

Auto India for me, anyday.

Too many Ads too. BTW
There used to be this magazine called 'Car & Bike' edited by Adil Jal Durkhanwala who went on to become the editor of Overdrive and presently edits CAR India. When was production stopped? Also When was the 1st issue of OD published? What about BS Motoring?
If someone has magazines from the 1990s and is willing to give them away, please PM me.

I prefer Autocar india and Overdrive, though as AMG said none of these is a vfm anymore.
OT- I wont name in public, but some automags do have biased reviews and one of the mags favours my favourite car manufacturer.
