I found that a similar thread (a detailed guide actually) exists in our forum on online shopping on international sites. I have a query regarding my Amazon.in order which I had placed yesterday.
It is being processed by Amazon transportation services (Amazon Prime) under priority delivery and has been shipped today.
I had found a similar listing from the same seller for a lower price (yes, quality might be inferior) and ordered it. Before ordering that one, I raised a cancellation request through mobile app for the previous order. The order which I was trying to cancel was not shipped yet but was "Being Processed" and Amazon.in couldn't assure me that my cancellation request will be approved. Still, having confidence on online portals for cancelling a cash-on-delivery item which wasn't even "Ready to ship", I went ahead and order the other lower priced item.
Today I recieved a message that both my orders have been shipped. I tried cancelling again but it is not possilbe now when the item has been shipped.
It says :
Order is on the way. We'll do our best to accommodate your request, but cancellation isn't guaranteed. Unfortunately, you can’t update your delivery options yet. Please come back tomorrow.
However on FAQ page, I saw the below information :
Note: The option to cancel your order will only appear if the order hasn't entered shipping process. If the order has already entered shipping process, you will not find this option. However, for orders shipped through Amazon Transportation Services, you will be able to cancel the order any time before delivery |
Amazon.in helpline 180030009009 isn't of help either. I tried contacting 7-8 times but the phone is picked up by random people everytime, and the people are definitely not what you expect from a customer care center.
What shall I do now? Refuse delivery or run after them for cancelling my order?
