Folks,
We had purchased a Zen couple of years back in Mahe (Pondicherry), we bought the car when we were buying a property there and my dad was there for 6 months and initially planned to use the car only for some time and dispose it.
Since my dad is keen to keep the car we have 2 issues to take care of.
1. We never transferred the car to Dad's name. We have the signed paperwork we got the previous seller signed but we did not get it registered at the RTO.
2. Car is now in Hyderabad and used very sparingly - once or twice a week.
So my question, is it mandatory to take the car back to Kerala and have it registered or would just taking the paperwork to Mahe and have the car registered to my dad's name suffice ?
We do not intend to register it in AP but only pay the taxes to drive around without being stopped by the RTO.
Thanks guys and I look forward to your thoughts.
