Will it Take More Than a Day For Temporary Registration?

Today morning, I inspected my new VW Polo in the yard and completed the payment. The SE said he will take a temp registration and I can take the delivery this evening. But in the evening he said, the temp number is yet to get allotted.

Will it take more than a day to get the temp number? I have never heard about such a thing. Is this a new rule? They applied in the Trivandrum RTO for temp registration. As far as I know, it will take only a few hours to complete the procedures.

Any comments/suggestions?

I don't feel so. Not sure about other cities but in Hyderabad as soon as you make the road tax payment you will get the temp registration number.

I think the dealer applied at the last moment or the papers they took was not proper .
Otherwise it is usually done within one day .
Hope you will get it tomorrow.
