The Indian arm of Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to re-assert its supremacy at the head of the luxury and prestige car segments. Adil Jal Darukhanawala spent a hectic few hours with Dr Wilfried Aulbur as he went on a dealership opening spree last week.
With these three new outlets, Mercedes-Benz now has close to 50 touch points all over India and this can only help the three-pointed star's appeal and availability as it gets ready to start flexing its muscles for the first time in its over a decade and a half existence in this country. "We will have fun in 2010," reiterates Dr Aulbur after we sign off, "but to do that we have to get our playing fields spot-on. What you saw today is also being replicated in Hyderabad, Kolkata, and three other cities. I am not telling you right now what sort of four-wheeled fun we will have in 2010 but do be at Auto Expo in January where you can see for yourself." Nuff said, folks, all roads should point to Auto Expo, and for those with deep pockets and looking for fun, we suggest you head where the three-pointed star shines bright at the Pragati Maidan.
