New Hyundai Tucson (ix35) Spotted: Heading To India?

This evening I stumbled upon a New Hyundai Tucson (ix35) in white with no camouflage. The car zoomed past on the opposite lane. Just for clarification, it was at least not wearing an embassy number plate or such and most importantly, there is a Hyundai showroom on the same lane where it was heading towards which has further strengthened my suspicion that it could an Indian bound vehicle. While returning from the same road, I did not find the car but will keep a watch in future. Anyways if it is really coming then that is pleasant news. Earlier Tucson was not the best seller from Hyundai but considering their modern design and value for money approach, I think new model can definitely change the fortunes of “Tucson” brand name in India. Let’s wait and watch.

If Hyundai can price ix35 <15 lakhs it will surely give a big time competition to xuv 5oo , I have seen this suv in person in europe and is really is a sexy machine

Huge improvements but I doubt whether it will make it to India soon, else it would have definately been showcased at the Auto Expo 2012.

Umang, I wouldn't say headlights are a rip off, rather its a family look which every manufacturer has.

Don't know why but the old Tucson looks solid and rugged and gives a feeling that it can take some abuse .

That’s true. Our forum member’s (torque.addict) Tucson has served 2,46,000 Kms without an engine overhaul. Most of the modern day SUVs (Esp. in this segment) are more of a lifestyle products. The actual ruggedness and charm has gone missing from sometime.

I guess it will be priced around 15-16L as in US the price for Base Model for Tucson is lower than the Base price of the new Sonata.
