They have used base versions for the tests and not high end versions. Still we cannot take the tests wrong. As mentioned by other members, its high time, our government visit its own automobile policy and ensure roads are decongested from safeless vehicles. We have many deaths owing to road accidents and making mandatory safety features (even in base variants) will not only make the roads safer but also get rid of vehicles worth sending to dumping yard (take case of share autos - a great menance without any care for safety
Base variants should give options for features/gizmos but not on safety items (ABS
/AIRBAGS). Also, cars should have a feature that it should not move forward without driver and co-passenger buckling the seat belt.
