The only one that comes to my mind is the Mahindra Mojo fiasco.
First Mahindra advertised it.
"Tested in Italy, coming to India"
Then they even revealed.
Then they even put it up on their website, and then, they still havent put it into production.
I mean, this is legendary stuff.
How not to market your product. |

| Goof-ups in the Indian Automotive World. Many goof-ups keep happening in advertisements, company press releases, brochures etc. in Indian Automotive world.
Starting this thread to share few of them. Please add such goof-ups if you have come across any.
1. Tata has shown a sketch of M&M Maxximo in its Annual General Report (AGR) 2010-11. The Mahindra Maxximo van picture appears right under the signature of the Chairman of Tata Motors, Mr. Ratan Tata.
Read here: Tata Motors Goofs Up With Mahindra Verito and Maxximo | MotorBeam - Indian Car Bike News & Reviews
2. On Tata’s service website Tata has used Mahindra’s Verito (or Logan) to explain the areas where the anti-rust coatings would be applied to the customer’s vehicle. The hilarious part is that, not just one or two, but all the parts where the coating is to be applied are shown on the Verito.
3. M&M is not behind. Observe the 3rd last line at the bottom of this page: Mahindra Scorpio
Instead of 'ARAI', they have written '* Mileage as per ARIA' |

| Re: Goof-ups and Bloopers in the Indian Automotive World. What about these??? Fiat Bravo ready to lead the bandwagon in India | CarTradeIndia.com Quote:
03 November, 2011, 10:33 IST by Cartradeindia Editorial Team
Fiat India Automobile Limited would be bringing its top end hatchback, the Bravo, in India soon. The highly attractive hatchback will be positioned in the rapidly growing small car segment of the Indian auto market. Fiat India plans to launch the car under its 'B' segment and is expected to compete with the compact cars like Hyundai i10, Maruti Alto K10, Chevy Beat, among other competitors in the domestic market.
Fiat Bravo Engine
Fiat Bravo will be launched with both petrol and diesel engine options, wherein the petrol version will be backed by the strength of a 1910 cc, 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. The motor would generate a maximum power of 150 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 305 Nm at 2000 rpm. As far as the diesel version of Fiat Bravo is concerned, each and every engine specification such as power, torque etc would be similar.
Mileage
The company recently reported that Bravo will offer an overall mileage of above 18kmpl and is expected to fall in price bracket of Rs. 17 lacs to Rs. 22 lacs.
Thus, Fiat confirms the adoption of an aggressive approach for India, wherein, the car maker would ensure that every possible step is put into place for action, in order to compete strongly with its domestic market rivals.

| Re: Goof-ups and Bloopers in the Indian Automotive World. Good observation. But on a lighter note, Only Mahindra and Tata that have interchanged their products / names on some places. Do I suspect something fishy?

| Re: Goof-ups and Bloopers in the Indian Automotive World. Came across another blooper while checking out Ford India website. In the "Request a Quote" the fine print at bottom reads Mondeo instead of Fiesta: Ford India - Request a Quote

| Re: Goof-ups and Bloopers in the Indian Automotive World. Maruti Suzuki's official website has a reference image of Tata Indigo Marina. The least they could have done was to use an image of Baleno Altura instead.
