+100,a good price difference can do fortunes for Tata.BUT,that price difference must favour Storme!!

Doesnt that bother you when you genericaly say that "people feel that",I think no.
Buddy my point is simple, people buy Skoda cars on the name of quality and image.Fabia doesn't sell because it isn't that competitive or say FABIA ISN'T ABLE TO JUSTIFY ITS PRICE TAG in front of the Swift-budget customers. If it would have justified it,then it would have done decent numbers.

Just when rain season started one of guy asked me to show him cheap property I was talking about so I said come with me as soon as he saw safari he said I am better with xuv then this unreliable car ( I was thinking punching him that time but kept control) . I said due to rain its slippery there his reply my xuv has awd me OK follow me
Rest story was I am helping his xuv to come out of mud later completed rest journey on safari .
Buddy as mentioned hundreds of times..
AWD is meant for mild off roading at max like driving in sand etc, basically its for offering better traction especially at the times the vehicle is negotiating low traction surfaces.
But one lockable central differential makes XUV slightly above our daily AWD cars.It can take mild off-road too easily.
EVERYONE KNOWS THAT XUV-500 HAS WON DESERT STORME ETC ETC RALLIES WITH STOCK AWD SYSTEM.
Older Endys used to get trapped in slush and same way Gypsys many times get trapped and keep on spinning their wheels because they have 4X4 but with open differentials while Safari and Xenon have limited slips which make them able to do serious off roading also to an extent.
Now you go to Fortuner and Pajero and you will find that Fortuner with wider tyres, more power, more torque and better GC still struggles in serious off-road conditions but Pajero easily negotiate it.Why?Because Pajero has two limited slips and centrally locked diff.
MY BUDDY,YOU CAN NEVER IGNORE THIS FACT THAT XUV IS BETTER THAN EVEN SAFARI IN 4 WHEEL HIGH MODE(I have kept Safari 4X4 and driven XUV AWD too and I believe this fact). But as you said it's low ratio box of Safari which makes it really special and hence Safari can go places which XUV can't even imagine.....HAHA,SAFARI HAS THE ABILITY TO MAKE THE OWNER 'RECLAIM HIS LIFE'
Rest I have kept my word on logic..

Can I use the word soft-roader here?
But all serious 4X4's have centrally locked+LSD combo to make them go places,in fact some have the option of getting all three locked like in Rangies etc etc.

If the people who have driven the Storme are right , Storme would be a much much advanced as well as improved version of the present gen safari. But if the pricing goes the way the Aria went I would say storme would be another vehicle that would be the latest addition to the list of 'WORLDCLASS PRODUCTS THAT FAILED IN INDIA DUE TO WRONG PRICING'.
I am a person who supported storme and tata and continues to do so. But the speculated prices makes me think whether the Storme would also go the Arias way.
Buddy my point is as simple as it sounds.
A Safari will sell for even 18 lacs, only it needs to justify its price. @Mods
sorry for breaking a rule(but these lines make a better impact if written in our Matr bhasha 'Hindi'):"Agar customer ko lagega ki usse 18 lakh ki cheez mil rahi hai,toh woh paisa bhi dega uske liye and agar usse nahi lagega toh woh nahi dega"(if customer feels that he is getting the thing worth 18 lac for his money then he will pay for it,else he won't).
People say Aria failed because of its price but in my views the reasons for failure of Aria can never be only price, instead it's overall product quality, niggles it had, incomparable to the competition in terms of quality and last comes price and badge.
There are cars like Innova which are selling at obscenely high over-price but they sell because they are known to offer good quality. If badge is all then why Camry was forgotten? Why Etios and Liva are not segment leaders?
My bud, people pay for quality, now people have started looking ahead of badge too and hence everyone sees what quality is offered at the price. VFM
does not means only features...it is possible that a 40 lac Merc can be more VFM than an Alto. How?Only it needs to justify the price it's selling at.
Here are my views..I PAY MY MONEY FOR QUALITY AND HENCE I AM READY TO PAY 20 LAC FOR A HIGH QUALITY ARIA OR 19 LACS FOR XUV WITH HIGH QUALITY OR 18 LACS FOR A HIGH QUALITY SAFARI.And amazingly it's not only me,there are hundreds of such people who are ready with cash in hand but they don't buy these cars because they don't find the quality they want.
