Jamna Auto Enters into Technology Transfer with TBL

To infuse Rs. 600 crores capex in next 3-4 years

New Delhi, September 17, 2018: Jamna Auto Industries Limited (JAI), India's leading Automotive Suspension maker for Commercial Vehicles, has entered into an agreement with Tinsley Bridge Limited (TBL), U.K. for the exclusive transfer of TBL's Extralite Spring and Special Steel Technologies to JAI.

JAI has been pioneer in bringing latest technology products to Indian CV sector and was the first one to introduce Parabolic Springs in India. The above tie-up would further add to its design capabilities, ahead of its competitors.

Announcing the technology transfer, Mr. Pradeep Singh Jauhar, MD & CEO, Jamna Auto, said, “Technology is going to be the key differentiator and will allow us to maintain our leadership position in the market. These state-of-the-art technology products would bring in significant improvement in our customer's products”.

The expected introduction of BS VI comes with a challenge for the manufacturers to compensate the increased engine weight. This Extralite Spring and Special Steel Technologies will provide access to lighter and stronger springs that will bring down the weight of the vehicle, thereby increasing the load carrying capacity of the vehicle.

Capex Rs. 600 Crore infusion

In another major development, the company envisages a Capital Expenditure to the tune of Rs.600 Crores in next 3 to 4 years. It would double its existing Parabolic Capacity, enhance its capacities for Lift Axles and Air Suspension and add two new products i.e. Stabilizer Bars and U-bolts. The said expansion is be funded through internal accruals of the company. Jamna has nine manufacturing plants across India located near major CV hubs and announced setting up of Two New Plants at Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Adityapur (Near Jamshedpur) enhancing its reach to OEMs and After Market India.
