Maruti Suzuki India has named a new milestone under its name. The largest car manufacturer in the country has made more than two crore four-wheelers in time span of 35 years. With the new achievement, Maruti Suzuki India has also surpassed Japan's record by almost a decade. Suzuki Japan took 45 years and 9 months to achieve this record.

Re: Maruti breaks Japan's record, manufactures over 2 crore cars in less than 35 year

This is truly a big feat, and the major market share in the country did help them reach the milestone so quickly.

While other players like Premier and Hindustan Motors went weak and eventually stopped operations, when the players from outside the country joined in, Maruti was the only one giving them tough competition, and churning out reliable products year after year. The brand did not just work in selling, but also focused a lot on after sales, and later for resale of used car.
Overall, in the whole, they managed to create a simple trouble free ecosystem , which helped a layman buy a car, easily maintain it and even sell it off later to upgrade, without much hassles.

This has really helped them keep their huge market share, even though there are quite a few products which are way ahead of Maruti's in terms of features, quality and sometimes even value for money, still Maruti maintains its brand value like none other.

Hyundai, though is doing a great job improving their market presence, and bringing in more premium cars, is still not a major competition for the trust people have put in Maruti.
