It’s events like these which are no less than Mecca for automotive enthusiasts. In this fourth edition of Pete’s Festival of Speed (formerly Pete’s Super Sunday), Kochi witnessed an astounding collection of some of the finest supercars and superbikes under one roof (easily 20,000+ BHP combined). The biennial event now spreads across the weekend and offers the visitors an opportunity not only to drool over the machines but also engage themselves in various automotive recreational activities. It’s worth noting that this is the only supercar event that happens in and around Kochi which makes it even more unique. Though the preparations to organize an event of this magnitude begin months before, The Automotive India was one of the handpicked media to be invited for a special preview before the super weekend kicked off. Pete’s Festival Of Speed: Preview at Idukki

A morning flight on 12th landed me in Kochi from where we headed straight towards Idukki in a Pete's Renault Duster.

Looking to spend some time off the city chaos? This is the place.

Being in the Pete’s territory, it was not uncommon to find a Pete’s tuned car now and then.

The adrenaline rushed as the evening approached. Supercar owners from Kerala and nearby states drove up for the carnival.

Plenty of Mustangs, BMWs, Mercs and Audis.

Lamborghinis stood apart though.

The evening concluded with petrolheads exchanging their views and the thrill that the dawn promised to offer.

Pete’s Festival Of Speed: Flag Off For Kochi

The convoy flagged-off from Idukki. This feeling was no less than like experiencing Need For Speed live.

The crowds gathered enroute. Onlookers couldn’t resist but smile and click photos. The convoy reached Kochi on schedule.

The venue is huge and spacious enough. It’s situated right next to the Kochi airport.

Though most bookings were done online but on the spot ticket counters were still seen busy.

Supercars were showcased inside the convention center while a plethora of superbikes were parked outside.
