Highlights on Oct '17 numbers
Redi-Go settling in 2.5k mark, Good
Fiat only for enthusiasts, Poor
Ford Ecosport numbers to improve in Nov, Dec to 5k?
Honda WRV loosing ground steadily, better options in the market, I suppose.
Hyundai doing well for itself continuously.
Jeep healthy start, with the petrol AT further push expected.
Mahindra nice to see KUV1OO doing 3.6k, listening to customers does help.
Maruti Celerio back to 12k, just with a nip and a tuck?[frustration]
Maruti S-Cross price correction with the national engine only, nice start.
Tata Tiago doing well, Nexon picking up, still a long way to go.

Thanks Vibhor, for the Data and the pains you took to compile these. My mini analysis, based on my interests).

Positive Growth :
ONLY 26 vehicles, out of the 79 mentioned (in the Tables), have seen positive growth, last month. On the expected lines, after the Festival Season. Even in these 26 vehicles, 20 are from five manufacturers : Tata - 7 (out of 11 listed); Hyundai - 4 ( out of 8); Maruti - 3 (out of 14); Mahindra - 3 (out of 9) and Toyota - 3 (out of 7). Honda, Ford, VW, Skoda, Nissan & Datson have one each car in the above list of 26 positive growth.

Market Leaders:
"Maruti - 1,35,128 ; Hyundai - 49,588 ; Mahindra - 23,413 ; Tata - 16,475 ; Honda - 14,234 ; Toyota - 12,403". All Asian Companies.Renault, with 9305 numbers is nearly there, but, I guess it will take "American and European Car Companies" more time for to understood Indian Market requirements. Now, WHAT is THAT requirement ??? I would visit the A$$ ONLY once a year and it HAS to be a RELAXED experience. Here foreigners, I have given you a single line "Market Scenarios" free of cost. If you care to bother, expand it and fit it for Price Brackets.

Maruti Pleased:
In spite of a 10.23% drop, Maruti's costly offerings "Dzire, Baleno, V-Brezza, Swift, S Cross & Ciaz" accounted for 50.6 % of their total sale, last month. Good Profit; Maruti bosses would be happy.

Compact Sedan Category :
Dzire - 20,610 ; Xcent - 3491 ; Aspire - 2180 ; Tigor - 1945 ; Zest - 1874 ; Amaze - 1845 and Ameo - 1224 ---- Total = 33,169 cars. This is 12 % of about 2.75 Lakhs cars sold last month. BTW, whenever I look at the new Dzire, the Grill reminds me of Ford Aspire. Well done Team-Maruti.

Between 4.2m & 4.5m length category (C2 ?) :
Total sales here is 31,902 cars. That is 11.6 % of the total 2.75 Lakhs. Share is "Creta - 9248 ; S Cross - 5510 ; Verna - 4701 ; City - 4366 ; Ciaz - 4107 ; Etios - 2440; Rapid - 1086 & Vento - 411 & Linea - 33". A few years ago, THIS segment was expected to grow to 15 to 17 % . The compact sedan segment has eaten into this segment.

Affordable Big SUVs :
Everyone aspires to get one, don't we ? XUV500 at 2,697 numbers, Compass at 2,455 numbers, Hexa at 1,041 and Tucson at 185. Though NOT exactly in the same price bracket, their appeal is good. Now, this segment is going to be interesting.

DZire sales have returned to their normal levels more or less. The 30k figures were more due to delayed deliveries resulting from initial recalls.

Jazz seems to have picked up marginally since WRV started selling. Some customers choosing Jazz over WRV?

Verna needs to sustain for next few months to really make it a tri-party fight.

Looking forward to see facelift Ecosport numbers. Bookings with dealers show healthy picture.

Swift should further reduce till Auto Expo in anticipation of new variant. Current DZire & Baleno are much better products than Swift for those who cannot wait for the new Swift.

Brezza needs petrol and automatic options ASAP. Ecosport with its six speed auto on the higher side and Nexon with its AMT offerings in the budget zone will take away the automatic sales pie.

Jeep Compass sales are quite positive. Introducing this vehicle was the right decision for Jeep and FCA. This model is far more visible than the costlier ones on the road thereby enabling recall value. Plus its distinctive design helps quick sightings on the road.

@vijay_968 In addition to Compact sedans, Compact SUVs have eaten into share of both compact sedans and C2 segment cars. Within C2 segment itself, SUVs are taking away the share from sedans. C2 Sedans used to cross 7k figures couple of years back, however, now no model does.

Thank you Vibhor for sharing the figures. Looks like its that time of the year when the figures starts to fall before picking up in the new year.

Great to see Compass maintaining the figures. A lone warrior that has completely turned FCA's fortunes.

Hexa looks to be settling at 1000. Market still prefers proven XUV.

Tuscon has improved after price reduction. Crysta and Fortuner has been rock solid.

Ecosport, Nexon, KUV1OO and Celerio still in initial stage. Subsequent months should give us better picture.

On the whole, muted couple of months for the industry as such.

S Cross has sold more numbers than the Ignis and Ertiga and Ciaz. This goes to show how much difference a facelift makes. It's sad that the 1.6 Multijet has been discontinued, but the price correction is surely helping. Hope they are able to sustain the numbers.

The Dzire's sales has come back to little more sane number, even though its still topping the charts.

It would be interesting to see the impact of the Captur on Duster's sales next month. I believe the sales for Duster has gone down awaiting the Captur's launch pricing.

Kodiaq has sold good numbers for a car in the higher price bracket.

The Nano sales look like the lowest ever, and I would not be surprised if the company has stopped production and is just clearing off stocks. Tigor and Tiago are holding on strong, and the Nexon, in spite of slower production, is still selling good numbers. The increase in production capacity of the Nexon, would surely bring the Tata higher numbers with the Nexon next month. It's sad to see the Hexa just managing 4 digit sales figures, even after being a great package.

The KUV100's face-lift again has helped it bring in more sales, while rest of Mahindra stable has managed to sustain its good numbers.

Compass has come as a savior for Fiat India, selling more numbers than all other car's from the Fiat stable.

Hyundai has also sustained its good sales, and the Grand i10 , after overtaking the Swift is a new segment leader. This would change once the Swift face lift is launched, but a great feat none the less.Verna has managed to overtake the City and Ciaz and with the number of bookings for the Verna, it looks like it is going to sustain the numbers for a while.

It would be interesting to see the impact of the Nexon and Ford Ecosport on the WR-V next month.

The compact hatchback segment in general is coming down, the Swift Dzire being an exception here, which seems to be taking away all the sales in the segment.

S-cross numbers for last two months have been in triple digits only. This seems to be a pent-up demand. Nothing to do with the other two. Impact of facelift will be visible in next few months only.

Duster sales were quite low post Creta+Brezza launch, Captur wasn't even confirmed for India at that time. It has only fallen ever since!

Thank you for your analysis.

Datsun had good numbers with Redi-Go, hope to see numbers increased.

Fiat need to implement strategies to improve their sale. With same Fiat engine, Maruti can get good sale then why not for Fiat ?

Figo and Aspire are doing good for Ford being Figo is really nice car with good engine, waiting for sales figure for Ecosport face lifted model.

Wonder why Honda sale is declined, particularly for City.

Hyundai doing good with 2nd position with sale form Grand i10 , i20, Verna and Creta. Good to see good numbers for EON.

Jeep had good numbers by looking at price range it is offered in. That said a good product will fetch a good number.

KUV 100 sale increases after facelift model, Verito - Vibe totally laid down for Mahindra after break in alliance with Raynault. SUVs making good business for the Indian manufacturer.

Maruti again number one despite decrease in sale. Wonder why Eeco and Omni are being sold in such good numbers?

Kwid continue in 9k range, but other products failed to impress for Renault.

FIAT India: some 50-60 dealerships are shown on their website. A sales total of 123 cars per month. Don't understand how they meet the operations cost.
