say VW is disappointing but ya their ASC needs a big time overhaul. Renault again has average ASC and average product lineup (yet better than Nissan in mass market segment). FIAT again gamble in ASC but good in products. Nissan lacks both apart from GTR.
VW do make good products ,no doubt about it.But by now they should have introduced a hatchback based on new platform, even in cs segment they need to come up with car of better design and space ,then there is a huge scope in suv segment, I think in coming years they might cover these.
Renault again is doing good to decent in entry level and compact suv but still absent from medium, premium hatchback ,compact sedan which are important segment in our country.
Fiat might be good in products 7year back, but I don't think that even you would be willing to buy punto or linea at present, they are well beyond their product lifecycle.Fiat need complete revamp of their range of products right from entry level to premium.
A good product is what a company need to survive and thrive in a market,if something doesn't work you dump it and bring in other product to try your luck .You cannot sit wishing that something that is flop today would suddenly become hit someday.I would like to present the example of Yamaha here, who in the beginning were quite successful here but then with other companies catching up they began to slow down, with a slew of flop products they were on the verge of packing up ,at that point FZ happened and that one product changed the fate of whole company in India.
Try try until you succeed, but Nissian instead of trying is shying from introducing new products.Death wish IMHO.
