Maruti Suzuki Planning a Rival To Renault's Kwid

Maruti suzuki is gearing for another model in its entry level segment. A car to rival Reanult's KWID is in the making and will be unveiled at Auto EXPO 2018.

This new cross-hatch will be aimed directly at the Renault Kwid. However, details at the moment are scarce, but it would be safe to predict a higher ground clearance along with an upright SUV-like styling. There is also no news of what’s going to be under the hood of this new model. Expect the familiar range of Maruti engines that include the 800cc and 1.0-litre petrol on duty

Expect Maruti to unveil this new model at the Auto Expo 2018 will launch sometime in later part of 2018.

Theres no point in drooling over the concept cars of suzuki, we have seen it in A-star,XA-alpha concepts.
This one would look exactly like KWID with a japanese face, But if maruti could serve us something like a celerio in fit & feel , i guess they could easily trash the kwid which lacks the feel & fineness .

As far as I know Maruti Suzuki, the end product will be made from current parts bin only to reduce cost. Expect Alto+Celerio+WagonR+Ignis fusion. No surprise there.

NOw itself, maruti doesnot know how many cars in same segment they have. I think they should stop competing with all small cars. Time for them to improve their image with solid sedans and premium SUVs

They should scrap the outgoing Alto, launch this, offer 1.0 litre engine alongside the outgoing 800cc engine.. the Alto brand is aging a bit..
But the only thing is that despite it's age Alto has been on the top of sales charts... So it's upto Maruti to scrap the Alto and bring this Kwid rival....
Wonder how Datsun will tackle this... Both the Go and the RediGo are selling in really small numbers
