* Ecosport sales figure seems to be very low as compared to last month
* Whats the problem with Taigo sales?
* Honda city is still down, though Amaze is sold in good figures.
* Apart from Innova, there is good sales of Etios Sedans. I have seen many of them in yellow boards.

Top 2 positions are same throughout the year. Maruti is doing good with its base segment cars while Hyundai is doing good with Grandi10, Elite, Creta. [clap]

TATA should consider Toyota Etios revival in the form of TATA ZEST Plus(Manza Size boot) etios doing well in market because of its longer foot print it is the only major option of fleet operators then why TATA wasting their time they already have product in hands [confused]

Production

The industry produced a total 19,236,932 vehicles including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three wheelers, two wheelers and quadricycle in April-December 2016 as against 17,925,959 in April-December 2015, registering a growth of 7.31 percent over the same period last year.

Domestic Sales

The sales of Passenger Vehicles grew by 8.59 percent in April-December 2016 over the same period last year. Within the Passenger Vehicles, Passenger Cars, Utility Vehicles and Vans grew by 2.46 percent, 32.99 percent and 1.67 percent respectively during April-December 2016 over the same period last year.

The overall Commercial Vehicles segment registered a growth of 3.52 percent in April-December 2016 as compared to the same period last year. Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) declined by (-) 1.82 percent and Light Commercial Vehicles grew by 7.56 percent during April-December 2016 over the same period last year.

Three Wheelers sales grew by 1.88 percent in April-December 2016 over the same period last year. Passenger Carrier sales declined by (-) 0.65 and Goods Carrier sales grew by 13.86 percent in April-December 2016 over April- December 2015.

Two Wheelers sales registered a growth at 10.04 percent during April-December 2016 over April-December 2015. Within the Two Wheelers segment, Scooters, Motorcycles and Mopeds grew by 15.73 percent, 6.30 percent and 26.59 percent respectively in April-December 2016 over April- December 2015.

Exports

In April-December 2016, overall automobile exports declined by (-) 7.37 percent. While Passenger Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles exports registered a growth of 17.40 percent and 10.94 percent respectively, exports of Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers declined by (-) 34.76 percent and (-) 9.70 percent respectively in April-December 2016 over April-December 2015.

Market leader Maruti Suzuki started the year on a robust note with sales growing 27.1 percent in January to 144,396 units as against 113,606 units clocked in the same month last year.
Domestic sales marked a growth of 25.9 percent to 133,934 units led by Baleno and Brezza . Both have strong bookings and continue to draw waiting periods.

With the exception of the super compact segment where Maruti sells the Dzire Tour sedan, which fell by 15 percent, all other segments have marked growth.

Ertiga and Brezza doubled to 16,313 units during the month. Sales of its only executive sedan Ciaz grew by 20 percent to 6,530 units. models like Alto and WagonR too marked a growth of 11 percent during the month.
