VW India defers launch of MQB-based new Polo, Vento as part of Volkswagen AG’s global plan to halt major investments in order to recover losses attributed to the dieselgate emissions scandal.

Instead of the Global MQB Platform VW is likely to build upon the localized PQ25 platform, which will integrate some of the benefits of MQB the existing . This platform will be called the PQ26 and will underpin the Next Polo and Vento for India.

Volkswagen has started working on enhancing the existing Polo architecture PQ25 — it is internally called VW x26 IN NF or PQ26 — which will spawn out the new Polo, and Vento by 2018-2019 and the company is also exploring a possibility of coming out with a compact SUV on the same platform. Instead of spending 700 crores to design a boot for ameo , they should have invested the same for a facelift version of polo and vento. Agree that both car looks classy but now a days people started liking curves. After seeing the july sales of polo and vento it is evident that both needs a major facelift to keep their market share else ameo can not change their fortune for sure.
