Friends,

As per some reports from the link, Hyundai Motors has intentions of introducing the Plug-In Hybrid version of the Ioniq. India at present is having strict norms for pollution and various govt. schemes/incentives for Hybrid cars so the time seems apt for Hyundai to consider the Ioniq for the Indian Market. Once launched, it would compete with the likes of Toyota's Prius.

Hyundai was evaluating the Ioniq Electric and the Kona Electric for India, and from these, it has selected the latter for commercialization first. The model with a hatchback-like profile could be decided for the market based on the customer reactions to the Kona.
